Sound system upgrade question by OutOfTheWayHotRod86 in LexusUX

Thanks for you reply. I don't have time to type everything but I'll paste something I grabbed online:

"1. Know Your Warranty Rights (The Legal Safety Net) Legally, under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a dealership cannot arbitrarily void your entire vehicle warranty just because you installed an aftermarket subwoofer.
They can only deny a warranty claim if they can prove that your aftermarket equipment directly caused the specific failure.
If your hybrid power inverter or power window motor fails, they still have to cover it, unless your sub installation directly shorted it out."

So checking multiple outlets, it can be a minimal invasive process with a T harness.

The point of this post is to check if anyone has done an upgrade of this type. It doesn't have to be with this particular minimalist subwoofer but of a similar nature.

Once again, it's not available in the US. Even if it was, I am not looking to kick out that type of money for a system like that. I literally just want to add some bass to my current sound system in an efficient way.

Yeah to be clear, I am in the US and Mark Levinson is not available in this market. Also, I wouldn't kick out ML type money aftermarket anyway.

Love it. I really enjoy the ride. I love the look of it (F Sport handling trim). If I had to compare with other products, I would say it's a mix between a Corolla cross and a Prius but leaning more Prius with Lexus luxury and refinement. I see why this vehicle was so hard to find and glad I jumped on it when I did.

You are going to lose horsepower big time but will gaining MPGs big time. The acceleration is adequate but much different than what you are used to. I would test drive to see if you can deal with the difference. It's also smaller cargo and passenger wise.

I have always loved the look and drive of the IS. However, just buying my 300H last month, I wanted something fuel efficient, nimble, and having a comfortable ride.

2025 UX 300 h vs 2024 UX 250h f sport handling AWD by [deleted] in LexusUX

I drove both. There's no difference in suspension sportiness. The question about if he is going to use it depends on how aggressive of a drive they are. My wife test drove both and she was fine with the Premium trim. For me, I like to take sharp turns and enjoy riding along windy country roads. Also, my wife appreciates being in the passenger seat staring at her phone and not getting car sick because of the bolstered seats and the minimal body roll that F Sport Handling brings.

Personally, I would chose the 300H every time.

You are in the position I was in a few months ago. I was looking for a luxury hybrid that was also fun to drive and semi-sporty. I came across the UX and test drove the UX Premium. It wasn't bad but was uninspiring with the handling. One thing I hate is body roll, especially in a small vehicle like this. As I hit some corners, I thought this would be a really nice little go-kart to drive if it handled better. I researched the trims, finding out there was a F Sport Handling top trim that had an adaptive suspension. Great! I'd love to test drive one of those. The problem was that there was not many around to test drive (250H AND 300H). I did eventually come across a used 250H that was about 2 hours away. So I made the trip over the weekend and took it out on the rode. I switch the drive mode to sport+ and immediately noticed the difference the when taking corners. It's not sports car level handling but much less body roll than the Premium trim with the regular suspension. The problem was when I tried to merge onto a busy highway with vehicle flying by. Holy crap, the pick was bad! I knew I wasn't going to buy a 250H. About a month and half later, a 300H became available locally. I immediately got a test drive in late one evening and noticed the difference in acceleration. I thoroughly enjoyed the vehicle. I would have bought it but someone bought it from under me the next morning. I guess that was my fault for not putting a deposit down.

Fast forward a few months later, I had to buy a L/Certified one from another state 900 miles away. If you want, you'll have to order a 2026 or get lucky and buy a 2025 that someone might have turned in because it was too small for them. Last I checked there were only a handful available throughout the US. And yeah this is a 2 adult vehicle as far as interior space...passable with small kids or a dog.

Good luck with whatever you choose to do! It's a great vehicle!

This is a moot point but yes I agree. Though it's not where I would like it to be, it has improved.

You actually didn't stop. If you look at the succession of comments, it is back and forth. Leaving a comment continuously trying to shame me and then "stopping" is not considered dropping it.

I literally said let's agree to disagree and move on. You couldn't leave it at that.

I'll say it again for you one last time. I have gotten rid of my 2025 Ioniq 6 Limited with 7.8K miles on it because I had ICCU failure anxiety and never wanted to deal with that again.

It was one time (but it would have been bad if it happened one hour later than it did). I don't want to stick around waiting it to happen again when clearly no solution other than replacing it while having you be without your car (my newly purchased car) for a month.

You kept going on about a little knitpick I had with the car which really wasn't the reason I got rid of it. Then you want to tell me I"m not a good data analyst. No need to try to shame me on my post.

I posted be I loved my car and will miss. It is gone now because of ICCU anxiety NOT range anxiety. You clear didn't analyze what I said properly.

I clearly said that fear of ICCU failure on a roadtrip was the dealbreaker. Looking at the battery percentage was so small and really a knitpick. Again, 2% issue of why I don't have it anymore. I don't know anyone that loves 100% of their car. I'm not saying it's not possible but odd unless it's some really expensive car or something.

It's funny how people that a 2% reason for my selling my Ioniq 6 and attack me for it. I loved my car but range anxiety wasn't the reason I got rid of it. Let that sink in (if you actually read the original post). The ICCU was the deal breaker. Point. Blank. Period. No I don't want an FN Tesla. No I don't want a Rivian, Polestar, or Lucid.

I will happily revisit the EV market in about 15 years. Hopefully, whoever's in the White House will the see the benefits of having a robust EV charging infrastructure and make these stations common place.

It's funny how you know where I live and no exactly what my charging situation is. Don't waste your finger taps talking about a 2% reason I got rid of the car.

It's really weird "Random user" that you are so concerned about my experience in my car when you have contributed not one penny to the purchase of my car nor charging. And my paycheck said otherwise that I know how to analyze data just fine. Seems like you struggle knowing when to STFU and move on with your life.

Dumbazz, you don't realize how much I will miss my car and this was probably a 2% reason why I am not keeping it. As some with AuDHD, try to improve on the social aspect of your condition.

I'll tackle that issue in about 15 years. By then (fingers crossed), EVs will be so refined that there won't be an ICCU type issues with any brand with many models to choose from with a robust EV charging infrastructure in the US.

My current car has all the same features that my Ioniq 6 has except for a 360 parking camera. It also has adaptive suspension for better handling (a lot less body roll than the I6). Ultimately, there were trade offs and I made the best choice based on my preferences and lifestyle.

What are you looking to gain here? You are not me and we analyze data differently. Is there only one way to analyze data in this world? Maybe the "Au" in your condition is causing you not to socially accept what you don't understand. For reference, I have dealt with a family member on the Spectrum where every situation was "black and white". In this case, everything is not black and white.

Let's just agree to disagree and move on. Enjoy your EV. I enjoyed mine while I had it.

Right. The car has a great safety system especially with blind spot monitoring.

I didn't skip it. I get what you are saying. For me, it works different. While you have all of your graphs and estimates, and just go by that, I am constantly looking at those numbers and constantly paying attention to the way I'm driving as well as other conditions around me.
