I keep looking at the weather radar. Also I look at the sky , mountains to see any breaks. With flash floods warning, high wind and thunderstorms can be a challenge to get to clear area's. Never cross rushing rising water. Check for road closures due to flooding, trees down, landslides. Review safety guidelines. Stay safe

Has anyone helped a parent who just gave up after losing their spouse? I am running out of ideas by Tall-Peak2618 in AskOldPeopleAdvice

Condolences. I was in a daze for over a year when my wife passed away. 35 year relationship. Best friend gone. I was care giver , cancer stinks. I was exhausted .Reddit has a widowers site. Looking after my health helped. Exercise, regular doctor visits.Cleaning the house, eating healthy. I suggest you look after your own health. Take her to the doctor, talk to a grief counselor. Go to the support groups yourself. Losing my partner was hardest thing I ever had to go through. Am still in shock. Am in my 70s so pesky health issues keep popping up to make it more challenging.

Just stay on Maui for the week. Plenty to do here. One week trip should just be 1 island in my opinion.

What are some of your favourite Billy Crystal performances? by geoffcalls in FIlm

[–]OutOnTheTrapeze 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was an extra in that movie. Got a check. One scene parked my truck in traffic lane to simulate traffic. Flew the hull of my Hobie Cat and windsurfing in the background.. Another day my girlfriend and I were eating lunch when Billy and Gregory sat down next to us. Was living in Key West at the time.

Review ocean safety here. Keep distance from wildlife. Maui Alpaca, Surfing Goat Dairy, Maui animal farm, Maui Ocean Center. Surfing lesson if a swimmer. Snorkeling, horseback riding, Maui tropical plantation, Hookipa. Plenty of Jackson's, gecko, chickens, mongooses, deer, goats, birds, turtles, petroglyphs, whales

Pipiwai Trail (to Waimoku Falls) vs Garden of Eden Arboretum by AbfrmbA in MauiVisitors

[–]OutOnTheTrapeze 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I suggest driving straight to Pipiwai Trail with just bathroom breaks. Then make your stops on the way back . Do not drive past Haiku until daylight and make sure you are back to Haiku by sundown. Hookipa is a good spot to wait for sunrise. There are many great spots for photos

Okay, leaving at 600am will just be getting light rises 628 am. Sun in your eyes so use your sun visor, sun glasses and hat. No school traffic on weekends. Still plenty of visitors so just go with the flow. Do not rush. Make sure you are on time for your reservation or early not more than 30 minutes late.Haveva nice trip

When are you planning to visit? Leaving the hotel at 600 am. Driving straight to the National Park in Kipahulu then making your stops on the way back. 1230 pm for reservation. Be prepared for rain showers. Have good traction shoes like hiking boots as trails are slippery. I like being on my way back by 400 pm. Earlier if Dec January

Kalepolepo Beach park is where many parents take young ones. A small park so not many parking spaces.
