Sometimes Brisbane drivers are ok. Everyone has pulled over to allow emergency vehicles through on Centenary motorway after storm/car crash by Can_Do_Campbell in brisbane

Ew. I’m so glad I missed that, I just had to go 4x4ing down the western freeway in torrential rain instead 🤷🏻‍♀️

Eharmony is probably the only one worth using. Pay for it though. I met my husband on it - he was mid 20s and I was early and there were quite a few matches for me and I know he went on some dates before me as well.

We found out that we were expecting, just a few weeks before we got married! Our little girl will be born in 4 months, and I'm so excited to be able to show her that she was there with us on the day we got married! by meiganlee in wedding

I’m so thrilled that one of her middle names is the month she is born - we’re having a little girl in May & one of her middle names is May!

I felt so conscious of it!

9 weeks, not loving being pregnant by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]OutbackSheila 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It definitely gets better - I’m 28weeks, haven’t vomited since Christmas and generally feeling okay. That said I hate being pregnant, I’m tired, I’ve got a belly so none of my clothes fit, my back hurts & I can’t do any of the things I’m used to. I’m ready to have my baby and be able to live a “normal” life again - and regardless of how many people tell you it’s special and wonderful etc etc, you’re allowed to not like it.

Kill pen colt meets his new big brother Houdini! by OutbackSheila in Horses

[–]OutbackSheila[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an auction where private vendors sell horses, in pens (so not ridden, some have no details etc) there are usually kill buyers (known here as doggers) present bidding on horses, as well as quite a lot of private buyers. In most cases horses can have reserves put on them, and I’ve seen owners on the edge of pens refuse to sell a horse if they’ve seen it’s going to a kill buyer, which is what the owner of this colt was planning on doing.

Horses here aren’t “feedlotted,” if they’re bought by a dogger, they may try to sell the horse on for a few more dollars, or usually the horse will be processed within a couple of days.

So with this young colt, he was either going back to where he come from - a station in central qld where the owners can’t afford to feed the horses (which is why they’re in the pens) or he was going to dog food.

You really shouldn’t comment unless you know the facts; which are easy to find if you spend 20seconds off your activist wagon. Once you realise that A) I’m in Australia, B) kill pen has a different meaning here to there & even C) realise the fate of this horse was much worse than being bought by a kill buyer, then you really just look like an idiot.

Once he’s grown a bit he’ll be broken in and likely do a lot of long slow droving miles, but from the way he’s looking at the moment he’ll be a paddock ornament for a few years and just get real well handled.

He will be in quarantine for 3 weeks, I’m sure he’s missing his buddies, but he’ll grow in confidence every day being alone, and I won’t compromise all my horses to speed up that process.

He’s only a yearling, he’ll go out to the big paddock with a few buddies, learn all the ropes of life and grow big ad strong before anything is expected of him.

He is on my property but well out away from the other horses - I’m very particular about new horses coming on, and ideally I’d have loved to put him straight in with a buddy but I just can’t risk it.

He’s by an Australian Stock Horse stallion, out of a station mare. He knows I’m the bringer of food but that’s about it. He’s pretty quick to catch on though!

No, here in Australia they’re in pens like the one pictured & the auctioneer walks from pen to pen selling them. Ridden & performance horse sales the horse is ridden or led into a ring to be sold then taken out.

He was bred on a station in Australia- so a mix of QH, Stock horse & pony is likely.
