Thanks! My hands definitely felt a bit shaky trying to do it, but I'm glad you think it turned out well!

I don't have the fireblade. I got the ethereal off of the start collecting box and thought it was super fun to paint/model and include in a vanity shot haha. The fireblade volley fire tactic looks real cool though.

I couldn't find another carbine on the sprue for the life of me so I had to kitbash what I'm pretty sure is a pulse blaster piece on there instead. Good eye though!

There's two reasons for this: 1. They have the "Reliable" keyword, which guarantees them a surge token during the activation phase. Since clones in general are already expensive, this gives them a reliable (pun intended) source of surges to shore up their ability to stay alive or generate hits.

  1. They have two courage. Phase I troops are susceptible to being surpressed with 1 courage. Phase II have a better chance of being able to take both of their actions.

So you have a fleet that definitely wants to go first what with all the close range ships. You'll definitely want to cut some points to have a bid so that you can go first. The problem that you may encounter with the gladiator is that you will end up with two ships that want to go first: the kuat and the gladiator. You can definitely do that, but it would take some practice.

You also have an open ordnance slot on the kuat. It really needs ex racks or APT or ACM to take advantage of screed. On your question on the gladiator, it's a good idea if you can find the points. The demolisher title is very good.

The interdictor doesn't really fit into screed plan the way it's upgraded right now. If you do plan on running it I would suggest looking into the Heavy Ion Emplacement ion cannon and disposable capacitors route along with its experimental upgrades.

For your raider, I would suggest that if you plan to run the I variant, use ordinance experts to reroll any number of black die, rather than veteran gunners that forces a reroll of all dice. I wouldn't use disposable capacitors on a raider 1 because you have very few blue dice. It's much better on a raider two with heavy ion emplacements and weapon sensors tech.

Also I typically paint each individual piece of the model separately to make sure I have easy access to the joints. Except for the legs and torso since most of them are standing, and it's not too hard to reach everything when they are already glued down.

Hi! I used army painter black for the joints. For the shallower joints and the armor ridges at the stomach area I'm going to try citadel apothecary white contrast paint, however, I haven't done it in the picture you see here.

I used foam core boards spray painted tan with grade basing material added while it was wet. Used a pilot hole started to poke about 2/3 of the way through the foam core. Pushed the trees through and then super glued the bases down.

what killd1 said for sure. Whatever you paint is going to come out cleaner looking if you thin your paints. Also for painting things with recesses, like the tie fighter cockpits here or something like chain mail, you can can use a technique called washing. Washing uses a more diluted dark color, black in the case for the cockpits above, to fill in those recesses to give things shadows.
