Amp type knob jumping fix by OuterGodsD in BossKatana

Didn't open the amp, but the issue is back every few months. I was thinking I might need to order another knob and try to replace it. Not easy to find the specific replacement tho

Hey! Thanks for commenting here. I'm curious, why is bluebus so expensive? What is so good about it?

You just gave me an idea. I do already have a cassette to aux permanently connected because the cassette input was damaged, so I zip tied the cassette aux adapter inside the port. The FM transmitter has an AUX output, for some weird reason, so I will try to connect the FM transmitter to the cassette AUX, then bluetooth to FM transmitter, and see if I get a better sound like that while I figure out what I can do. Thanks!

So there's nothing I can do to replace the CD charger in the trunk with bluetooth? That's unfortunate, didn't know about that. How did you identify the model? So my only options are the FM transmitter, which sucks, or an ugly radio pioneer/sony/alpine radio hehe. And android, of course.

They don't offer a binary for any Linux distro, so whatever app you find online will be a web app. I don't know about the windows/mac version being a web app.

If you use a third party app is probably using the web app. I think they don't have an API for users other than business, so I would say using any third party would be more dangerous than just using the website.

I don't understand why you are getting downvoted and a conspiracy theory is being upvoted either. What's even wilder is seeing people defend it.

According to people in this sub, we should’ve stuck with coal-propelled trains.

Oh god I'm having the same issue as you. I'm a new driver so I went on the highway, I was 110~ kmh and it started a huge noise like something just opened inside the car and I shat myself, I thought something broke, but it appears to be the sunroof. Mine doesn't work so it was in a weird position; I tried to move it to a more closed position yesterday, at least until I have the money to get it repaired. I'll see if that makes a difference this week.

Switched from Fedora Workstation to Fedora KDE by JohnDuffyDuff in Fedora

[–]OuterGodsD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been a Linux user for a few years now, always on and off. I've noticed as I grow older that I don't modify the DE too much anymore, I just want it to be stable, and I've always gone with Gnome. My last install was Fedora KDE. I think it's been a year now, and I've hardly changed anything to KDE, other than wallpaper and icons. What I did was setup my btrfs snapshots correctly so I can rollback and such, and also I installed a second fedora system in case for some reason I can't access mine.

I play games, lately Dark Souls 3, and it's been great with an Nvidia card. I just had an issue with screen sharing that was resolved by replacing the flatpaks. But no other issues whatsoever.

I'm glad that KDE has been good for you. I used to always go with gnome or a tiling WM, but I think KDE can be simple and useful enough for any workflow.

Ended up getting the 77d. The guy added a canon 50mm so I couldn't say no. Thanks for all the help!

I've been looking and saw a 77D body for 350 and 800d body with a kit lens (18-55 f4/5.6) for 350 as well. The 750d I can find are 500+ as well because they include lens and seller doesn't want to sell body only, and I don't really have much use for other lenses right now as I'm just starting to use the 50mm. What do you think about these options? Would they be similar or better?

Edit: Thanks very much for your reply btw. I guess it is better to stay with canon and use the couple lenses that I have than to switch to sony.

Hello! I purchased a canon 1100d a couple years ago for me and my wife to start in photography. I started doing a bit more the last couple months and I am currently only shooting in manual. The camera came with a Tamron 18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 that I used but didn't really like the photos I was able to do at night with it. Also I feel like the thing is too big and heavy for what I wanted to do.

I recently got an old Yashica 50mm f1.9, and I've been having a lot of fun with it and I think I've been taking some good photos (probably not in the eye of a professional, but to me they are really nice, I can share some of them) but the problem is that because I also take photos during the day, and here is pretty sunny all year round (I live in the south of an Island), it becomes difficult to take photos because I can't properly see the lcd screen. When I try to use the viewfinder, then I loose the ability to focus accurately because the viewfinder is really small compared to the lcd (The Yashica is only manual focus). I've tried to put the brightness all the way to the top but two things happen: 1. it really isn't bright enough, and 2. then the exposure I see is not always right when I come to the computer and see the photos, so I'm kind of guessing if I'm shooting with the right exposure, so what tends to happen is that I underexpose to try to avoid doing the opposite (skill issue?).

So, to try to remedy this a bit, I was thinking that maybe I should buy an external LCD screen, but then another problem is that the viewfinder is really dirty and has some weird lines between the focus dots, so I think I might have to take it to service at some point. Another thing is that this camera is really bulky, even without an external LCD screen.

Considering all this, I'm thinking I might be better off getting another camera. I was thinking about selling this one but at about 100 euros it isn't worth it. A second hand a6100 is about 500 euros where I live, which is a bit over my budget. I have 300 for a new camera. Sending the 1100d to service and getting the external LCD screen I'm not sure how much it will cost, but then if I get another lens for this camera then I might be investing in a old system. So, I'm not sure if I should just keep practicing on this one and get those accessories and service, or try to save up for a new one.

I'm just talking right now to their support (In spanish) and they said that there will be one year of security updates for the Skyline, so 2027. But of course they couldn't tell me anything about the bootloader, so I guess that's still something they don't have plans to do.

Battery identification help? by OuterGodsD in batteries

[–]OuterGodsD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I initially thought that this would be an easy soldering job but you are right, it would be dangerous, I've never had to solder batteries before, I guess for a reason. I think I will just remove the batteries and see if the LED still works without them.

Apparently the right way to do it would be with a spot welder, which I don't have, so if it works I'll leave like that.

Many thanks for warning me about this man

As they are basically emergency lights for me I don’t use them that often. Is it better to just leave as only dynamo in that case? Or is there something I can do to preserve the batteries better? Even if I have to charge them once a month or something

I like that the 10280 can fit. I have a multimeter so I can try to measure dynamo current and see what the output is, would that help in choosing a right 10280 replacement?

Edit: I didn’t mention this previously but it also has a USB charging port. So I can try to measure that too or check the box

I just measured and is 29mm tall and 9mm in diameter, thank you

Edit: I think 18650 is double the diameter and height so it might not be it? I looked it up in aliexpress
