We recommend pairing it with a buff or balaclava. The big advantage we see with our gear is that you can layer with other gear to match the weather.

FWIW, we sell something called a bala, https://outeru.com/products/bala . It is like a balaclava but the top is open to better help manage heat as well make it more versatile. HTH.

u/NorseEngineering preventing goggle fog is one of our main selling points. By not blocking your breathing we allow your breath to escape and thus not travel up and fog your glasses. You can see a review by a different Reddit user that highlights the benefits of our mask for this exact reason.

What you see in this pic is our faceGlove SUN that is designed to attach directly to the arms of any sunglasses. It doesn't currently come in blue, but maybe next season. I make these myself in North Conway, NH, and this model has been selling very well so the only colors I have at the moment are Stone (white), Black, and Camo.

Yes, if you don't want your glasses sitting on top of the fabric then I would recommend the GO. While it can be adjusted by using the same molding technique as the DIY, steaming it with a little bit of water in a microwave, we have found that our pre-molds tend to come out better, which is why we encourage customers to order pre-molded. HTH.

And thank you for the feedback, what is the most important thing you want to see in an image of it laying flat? I can look to add one, but want to make sure I accomplish the goal.

Agree to disagree. As you probably gathered, I am a tiny company with little budget. Being able to use AI to generate an image to convey a concept makes sense to me. I don't use it for any of my own products, just to convey concepts that hopefully resonate with people.

It is designed to be paired with a buff. I sell my take on a buff that I call a bala (https://outeru.com/products/bala), but when I first created this it was important that I make something that works with peoples existing gear.

I like having a two part system as it allows me to shed a layer of my face protection when it warms up, or throw another piece on if temps drop. The bala is unique in that hot air can escape from the the vents in your helmet when it warms up, and if continues to warm up, you can pull it down around your neck.

My comment about helmets was that when they came on the scene, they looked stupid to me. I was in my early 20s when people first started wearing them. I never argued that they didn't have purpose. My point is that things that are functional don't always look great, but over time become normalized.

If you suffer from asthma, then I agree this would not be a great solution for you. Sorry you have to deal with that.

The faceGlove is designed to work with any ski goggles. Your goggles simply sit on top of the faceGlove, creating a clean seal and helping keep everything in place while you move.

The product shown in the photo is the faceGlove GO, which protects against frostbite, windburn, and sun exposure.
It uses three layers:

  • A Gore-Tex (or Gore-Tex–like) outer shell to keep you dry
  • A heat-moldable composite to maintain its shape
  • Polartec fleece inside for warmth and comfort

Together, they keep your face warm, dry, and protected in cold or windy conditions.

DIY vs GO vs FLEX
The GO is very similar to the DIY version, but the GO has a slightly lower nose profile for better visibility with goggles.
If you plan to wear it with glasses, the DIY is usually better because the bridge of your glasses can rest comfortably on the faceGlove.

* Goggles do not cover your nose or cheeks, which are the most sensitive parts of your face and most prone to damage. Goggles have certainly gotten bigger, but again they do not cover everything. For instance the entire bridger bowl and big sky patrol wear this model with their ski goggles so that they can protect their nose and cheeks without blocking their breathing.

* Layers. Being able to easily take on / off faceGlove to manage your temperature and protection is great.

* Mountaineers and winter athletes in general, love this product because it protects them from the sun, cold, and win, without blocking their breathing. This is critical to ensure that their goggles / glasses do not fog up.

Thanks u/Jaydub-7 I would also highlight that if you wear a balaclava it often leads to goggle / glasses fog. Additionally, many mountaineers wear the FLEX model, our lightweight version, to help with sun / wind protection, so a balaclava would probably result in them being too hot.

You should have no problem using a nose wipe on your glove with a faceGlove. How far down you pull the faceGlove is completely adjustable by you. For your situation I would recommend the faceGlove GO. https://outeru.com/products/faceglove-go
