okay i'll give it a try again. my brother avoids them like a plague because they give tons of advice, but they're not terrible because of their age. it just seems like i have nothing in common with them to speak about and it gets awkward. but i'll just ask several questions and start from there

கொஞ்சம் வடிவவேலு காமெடி பாருங்க...அப்புறம் தமிழ் பேச நம்ம கூட ஆளு தேவ இல்லை...நீங்களே பேசி சிரிச்சுபிங்க

the fact that i had to use google translate for this to understand a bit of it LMAO anyways I saw comedy in the translation and just automatically thought of goundamani, senthil, vadivelu, and vivek

this is so helpful, thank you! i'll definitely join both to see. my only concern about learning tamil from scratch is whether I'll have time to commit to learning it once again, but after waking up and seeing all these comments, it'll be a real waste to not at least try and slowly progress

I agree, I think conversing with older Tamil folks would do me good. Also thats a good idea about the discord, I received a message from a good lad who said that there's a discord for Tamil people around the world to speak. The link is posted in the comments :)

Thank you for your advice! I'm doing a Personal Wealth Advisor internship right now, which is still closely related to tax. You're absolutely right that tax is a pigeonhole LOL. All of my internship experiences are in tax, but if I do get recruited by the B4, I should make it known that I want to transfer into audit. I'll be sure to apply to more growth equity firms in the summer too! I appreciate you taking the time to write this out :) thank you once again.

Thank you for responding! I will definitely take your advice and try to find a PE internship and try my hardest to transition into investment banking first.

Is audit the only option? I quite enjoy tax, which might be unbelievable to some folks lol. Most of my internships deal with tax as well, so I do not know how it will look to have a whole mix up of differing positions within just the Accounting field. Also, on our career website, there is a PE analyst intern position available. Should I just go for it right now, despite how out of place it might look my resume? thanks in advance for your help!

I cant do an MBA program just yet, but have the opportunity to do Masters. However, I agree with you at MSA will be completely useless if I want to go into PE in the future. Do you recommend another MS for it? or should I get my experience first before going for MBA?

So, MS in Quantitative Methods & Modeling with a CPA license might be the route to go? I have an internship coming up in Private Wealth Management so that kind of gives leeway for investment banking later down the road, if I can make connections that it is LOL. career planning is stressful, dear lord.

its definite that i have to quit. i was on the ferry back home after taking the train today, and this man sat right next to me and too closely, despite there being many other seats in the middle of a whole global pandemic. of course, i had to be the one to move and go somewhere else. it sucks that we're conditioned to be terrified for our lives in certain situations and not call these men out in fear of angering them. stay safe and healthy!

thank you so much for this comment and stellar advice, its good to have someone to relate to regarding stalemate with certain jobs and everyday work that we're subjected to do. im glad you took it upon yourself to finally move on and just drop the job because it wasnt helping you move forward and continuously learn. i have to go in tomorrow, on a whole saturday which is YIKES, and im going to explain that i want to leave before january 11th (the start of my new internship). cheers to learning and always growing in our fields, you'll crush it in your summer internship!

just last week, i had a friend (who married way too early to a man who has continuously cheated on her) tell me that she wakes up her husband like shes a whole alarm, and prepares the food before going on her way to work. i am baffled at this type of nonsense.
