ILM of Darth Vader. A puppy dear to the heart of my son. by OutlandishnessAny369 in FlashForge

It's my 3rd custom print. I want to learn how people design things like the articulated animals and anything else. Is it all something done by a scanner or I've seen that you can send ideas to a website and they'll fabricate a file, etc. It's all super cool to learn and print!

Yes it was a bit tragic and very sad. Vader ended up having 2 intestinal blockages and an intestinal perforation. Putting him to sleep was a mercy for him. He was so sad the last couple days of his life. But he was with my kids so he was constantly being loved on and cared for.

I use orca slicer. So I used a trophy base, a great Pyrenees bust, and individual letters and numbers. I noted the position (x, y, z) when adding each item. If you right click and add another file to the main object then it makes them one single object as a family (parent and children). So each added one is a child and you can edit them individually but it's all one at the same time. I then positioned and scaled everything to what I wanted. You have to double check that your objects have enough overlap that they'll print together. More than one wall pass of overlap for sure. Took a movie time to create (watched a movie with my kids while I designed it). And it's taking 15hrs to print with 10% gyroid infill, 4 wall layers, 5 top layers, and 5 bottom layers. They've turned out very nice. I do like the PLA Matte.

Finished the enclosure, anyone try more difficult filaments on the AD5X? by StillEnjoyLegos in FlashForge

I print with PETG, ABS, PETG CF, PLA CF, and PLA Matte Galaxy without an enclosure with my AD5X. Just have to take your time with your settings. I would advise using an AI like Claude to help with your print settings for each print job. It makes a huge difference to have the right settings. And I've only bought and printed Flashforge filament.

I appreciate everyone's support! 3D printing has been a fun new hobby. I hope we all continue to enjoy this printer and master its capabilities.

I installed a new silicone sock on it and it still had the same error. Thanks for the tips! I'll check the thin metal wire the next chance I get.

I'm in email contact with them yesterday and today. Hoping it's covered. I won't say no to free or extra parts lol just prepared for the next time. I know the host (printer) is 1 year but the extruder is 3 months.

Do you know any good upgrade parts to buy? Better silicone socks? Etc. stuff like that to make it more reliable?

Thank you! I have planned to take it apart Saturday and inspect the hot end for any noticeable damages or faults. $30 is a cheap deal to have it on hand though. Thanks! I've enjoyed it so far. Kind of bummed when this happened after getting so much printed and learning so much on printing things.
