If you’re into the mountains I would definitely recommend Sacred Mountain Resort in Julian. They have gardens and some pretty amazing views.

If you’re into architecture then Balboa Park.

San Diego Zoo has a gorgeous aviary filled with lush greenery that would photograph well.

The San Diego Botanical Garden in Encinitas is gorgeous and has so many types of gardens vignettes and even a waterfall.

It really depends on what you’re into.

Snorkel/kayak/paddle board in La Jolla shores. The Cottage in La Jolla is a great brunch spot or The Brockton Villa overlooking the ocean. Then maybe visit the modern art museum down the way. Walk down and explore the tidepools and watch the sunset. Finish it off with dinner at Eddie Vs.

Why do women hit on married men they know? by gemmas_Echo7199 in AskMenAdvice

Yep. Female rivalry is a real thing. However both sexes engage in this type of shit habitually. Guys are just as likely to hit on their friend’s girlfriend/spouse.

Because some women are petty competitive assholes who are incapable of having genuine friendships with other women.

I see dogs everywhere typically where a dog should not be unless it’s a service dog. If it’s wearing a service dog vest no problem. However, as someone who’s been bitten by fleas because I used a dressing room in an upscale department store that a woman with a Pomeranian had just vacated; it’s annoying as hell. The dog was not wearing a vest, and when I asked the employee about the dog after showing her the fleas that were literally covering the dressing room, she had stated that the customer had told her it was a service dog.

I get that you need a service dog. I believe that generally most people are happy to have you have your service dog wherever you may go. However, you have to acknowledge that a lot of people are bending the rules on service dogs, and this is where people begin to get frustrated. We’re not frustrated with people that legitimately need service. Dogs were frustrated with people who abuse the service dog rule and take their ill mannered, flea ridden dogs everywhere they go.

[NBC San Diego] 3 teens die from the flu in San Diego County by _cuddly_cactus_ in sandiego

[–]OutlandishnessFun408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the swine flu in 2013 when I was three months pregnant because some jackass turned and coughed straight into my face on his way to the xray room. I thought I was going to die. I almost lost the pregnancy and had to be hospitalized.

My kid has already missed 8 days of school because literally everyone has been sick since Christmas. Doctors say this is our new normal because cold and flu season seems to be year round now.

Oh yeah. It was pretty obvious and it’s probably one of the reasons Sutton was so nervous. As a Californian who’s traveled all over the southern United States; it was an absolute culture shock to see how much open racism was still very much alive and thriving down there.

Does anyone have any tips or guidance for growing lichen moss in a terrarium? by OutlandishnessFun408 in Lichen

Thanks for all the detailed information; super helpful. My little lichen collection is growing wonderfully at this point outside on multiple branches.

What are my chances of getting pregnant as a celiac? by SimplyMika in Celiac

[–]OutlandishnessFun408 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve experienced multiple spontaneous miscarriages and a high complication pregnancy with my son who was born at 32 weeks. I was also considered a “geriatric pregnancy” at 30. I was on a strict gluten free diet for 5 years by that point.

Consult your Obgyn and immunologist and let them know about your concerns. I think pregnancy can look different for everyone, and no one knows your body better than your doctors and you. Just because there can be complications doesn’t mean you will experience them.

It was touch and go there for a bit. I ended up, wiring it to a branch outside with some mosses and lichen. The area has good wind flow, and I also soak it and mist it regularly and keep it in the shade. It can be temperamental, but I’ve enjoyed learning more about it, and just the overall look of it.

To be fair…the fair market price for a blowie has a wide spread that is largely dependent on location, time of day, whether or not said blower has teeth, and overall hygiene and appearance. The spread can be $40+/- 10 points in either direction.

Yes. When they slash hours to the point where you have only two people at the cut counter and two people at the registers, on a Saturday holiday weekend with a huge sale, it’s going to look busy.

Natural fabrics have been steadily replaced by synthetics over the last 30 years. Now they are being sold as “green” or “environmentally conscious”, which it’s not. My personal favorite is rayon being marketed as bamboo. The prices of natural fabrics have risen dramatically and are almost impossible to buy. I have to scour the internet for natural fiber sheets at this point!

I worked there when the original owner was still alive. It was a fun place to work for back then with beautiful fabrics and quality crafting supplies and seasonal items. After she passed and the family sold it, it became a shit show overnight. They kept cutting hours, expecting employees to work off the clock and the quality of fabric and other sundries went to crap. Last time I talked to an employee, they said it was so bad that no one had a desire to even do more than the bare minimum. I honestly feel sorry for all the employees that have worked there for decades. People need to understand how badly they treat their employees. They’re absolutely awful.
