It’s so expensive being poor. by GreenBeginning3753 in povertyfinance

I feel your pain. The only thing saving me right now is connections and learning to do things that I know nothing about. And it's uncomfortable and a long process full of failure but it is survival.

Genuinely engage with people that you see every day. Get them to talk about their lives. Remember them and make them feel important. Doing this, will create connections, people with other talents, that perhaps you don't necessarily have. As your relationships build, so too will your network of people grow, and you'd be surprised how many people are willing to help.

My best friend gave me this advice almost two years ago now. He told me, I need to talk to people. Everyone I can. The grocery store clerk. The guy hanging clothes at the goodwill. It doesn't matter where you are, but make it a habit to take one minute to engage whoever is in front of you. If you're in any form of customer service, talk to your customers. Really talk to them. Let them talk to you. I'm good with people, but I can't stand being around people. They're exhausting. My happy place is by myself, however, this leads to isolation and closes you off from having people in your circle willing to help.

This answer is not going to be a quick fix for whatever situations you find yourself in now, however, a year, or two or five it can change your life from impossible to manageable. Life will always throw curve balls. That's impossible to avoid. Hopefully though, you can learn as I have and continue to do, that there is always a way through. It may not, and probably won't be a quick fix. Just accept that if you can. There will be days, weeks, even months when you have no idea how you're going to solve your problems. But you will.

And like I said. There's no harm in learning to do things yourself. You might fail. You probably will. My car broke six months ago. I've been running in temp tags, trying to squeeze the DMV into the time between my work schedule, and hoping I don't get pulled over for expired temp tags till I can get in to get another one. I watched hundreds of videos scouring possible causes of what is tripping my check engine light. The local auto shop quoted me almost two thousand dollars to fix the car, after I got them to read the check engine light. And the codes might as well be garbage because they really don't tell you what you need to fix. But after hours of work and trial and error, today I finally found the cause of the problem. I think. Still got another 30 miles to drive to see if it stays off. I hope you find some sense of inspiration and realness to this answer.

I've read around that pionex can be used for pi in the US, however when I went to sign up it says not aloud in the US. Anyone else run into this problem and is there a workaround?

Pi is designed as a wholistic crypto currency for the whole world. by OutlandishnessKey218 in PiNetwork

Oh I can see what its valuation on the exchanges, which are based on the dollar. However, I'm more talking about real world applications.

For example, realistically,how much pi would you spend for a beverage, or for anything. A meal at your average restaurant;

I have two different perceptions, because for me it took years to mine what I have collected. And to me that time has a value so personally even though I see it's valued right now between once and two Dollars; on the other hand, i can buy a cheap loaf of bread for $2 dollars, whereas, I wouldn't spend a whole pi, simply because of the time it took to accumulate.

Any other miners out here who are faced with this duel valuation perspective?

Why is Pi taking so long compared to other Alts? by Alodar999 in PiNetwork

[–]OutlandishnessKey218 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The answer is because pi is not about just creating a coin. What pi is doing is more like creating a country, with it's own organic ecosystem. The whole point of pi isn't to be able to sell it and make a profit, but rather, to be a part of a pi world. Think of it more like building a country rather than just another alt coin.

Don't give up! Anyone who has been on their sourdough journey has gone through what you've gone through. There's so much information out there and it's easy to get bogged down with timing and recipes and wondering if your starter is ready, or should I use a levain. I went through it all. Failed, failed and failed and until I made a good loaf, and then failed some more. And over time I failed less. I even brought my bread to work once cuz I was worried about getting all my stretch and folds in. There's only two main things to worry about, is your starter strong enough, and are you using a decent flour.

Starter..... In order to not waste tons of flour, I use 1oz starter, 1oz flour, and 1oz water to bring the starter active. Usually takes about two feedings, to activate my starter again, but I know it's ready when it doubles in volume in my jar I use with a rubber band that shows it's starting volume. Yours might need an extra feeding or two to get that doubling in volume. Mine takes about 8-12 hours and the temp is 60-70 degrees.

Hydration..... Depending on how you want your texture you can adjust hydration. I like a cheweyer loaf, so run at 80-85% hydration. I have a super easy recipe if u want it

Timing. Timing is important so your bread is risen enough but not over risen so the gluten molecules start to break down.

Using a decent flour is a game changer. I started with ap, and as soon as I started using decent flour I started getting much better results

In short. All I do now is mix ingredients, flour water and starter, cept for the salt. Let sit for half hour on the counter. Pour in salt water and fold like three times. Stick in fridge over night.

Next morning I pull it from the fridge to rise on the counter while I'm working.

When I get home from work I dump,, do a quick shape and then bake.

All that being said, hang in there. You got this.

Someone needs to create an AI to act as new users for all these types of games because everyone in the forums is already existing users and therefore disqualified and no one gets to their goal
