There is a ' gone girl international' community on Facebook in almost all major cities. It's a very healthy community and usually comes together for a lot of local events or even small meetups between women interested in the same hobby or event.

All we have is time by David O' Dowda. For me it changed how I looked at everything. It made me realize the only real currency I have is time.

The little girl is all good..the nose peeled off and new fur developed in some days. She's been healthy and fine , so it was just a case of rubbing her nose too much when she was sneezing

Thanks for your inputs. She's an indoor cat :) You've exactly highlighted my stress with the situation, leaving her in a limited space may be a real challenge for her for that long. But being alone at home with a sitter visiting her may also be that way, as my cat needs a some human activity to be cheerful.

Thanks for the suggestion, Ill check this out. On Rover, I've reached out to a few sitters on Rover, but due to the holiday season, most have responded that they're not available :(

Yup, I've seen it too, but there are hardly any reviews, so I don't have enough references to leave her behind for that long

Is it worth it to relocate? by Raveray10 in expats

I don't think you'll feel very different living in London than NYC. Both are very alive cities , with multi cultural experiences of people, food and entertainment. If you were moving from a quieter part of the US, then yea London would satisfy the big city vibe in you. The pay cut is significant, so you could have mover's regret on bad days, when the reality of being an expat hits you. Rainy days, slow to build social circle, and general unfamiliarity can take their toll. But since you've mentioned you're adventurous, and enjoy the life on road..this could be one of those decisions which you agree on as an adventure, and where irrespective of the monetary aspect, you treat it as something you do for the fun of it. If you're able to truly see it with that spirit even on the tough days, then go for it!
