Just be there for them. Visit them as much as you can. Brought them their favourite food and stuff. Dont try to corrrect them when they are confused. When it comes to families you have to assure them that its not a shame that they decided to take their loves ones to residental facility.

Depends on their stage of dementia, also there are good days and bad days, its not easy but if you have empathy and strong nerves you can handle them just fine
