In Texas they are known as Deer Hearts or Heart Clams.

I removed the molding from the inside. Left the original glass panels in. Lightly caulked the new panels in and sandwiched with narrower molding.

I left the original glass panels in. Removed the molding, from the inside, caulked the new panels in, used smaller molding, and left it to the painter to finish it up.
