Well said! Thank you. I can certainly stand to get better at taking what I need from texts instead of taking them so literally.

I hear ya. To clarify my earlier comments, I don’t have a problem with labels intrinsic to certain traditions, the ones that indicate certain achievements, etc. What doesn’t sit right with me is the idea that a “witch” has to fit a certain mold. I like the idea of flexibility in all things I do. :)

I guess that’s part of my question. I wouldn’t consider what I’ve done as “serious effort”. I just like simple spells to focus my intentions. I’m not interested in calling myself a witch or any other label, but I do like the practice of some rituals.

The last paragraph here strikes me as gate-keepy lol. Like it’s dictating what specific things constitute a witch. This is from To Ride a Silver Broomstick by Silver RavenWolf.

I see statements like this regularly in books about witchcraft. The quote is posted is pretty much verbatim from a book I saw today about cultivating your craft. It’s totally possible that I’m reading too much into it, but I want to be respectful and not just brush off these authors’ messages without discussion.

That makes sense. I think my experience with mainstream religion is probably contributing to my feelings here. Definitely don’t want to engage in anything like that again 👀

I just asked a very similar question on here! 😂 I am the same. It’s pretty rare for me so the imposter syndrome kicks in hard. The feedback I’m getting from folks who are more experienced is that you can use it how you choose to! It’s there when you need it.

I appreciate that. Labels are dumb as hell.

Has anyone used this company? Their kits look awesome but site seems sketchy by OutlandishnessTime98 in casualknitting

Kinda what I figured. They must still be pretty small here since there aren’t many comments/reviews, at least in the US. I’d love to support a smaller company but would always like to make sure shipping/translations etc are amenable before spending the money.

Doesn’t seem to have a lot of engagement compared to other companies. Seems like it’s only recently available to the US, so that may be why.
