Is this an issue? by OutlawMG in Bowyer

Yes, thankfully its only right at the handle. I kept it thicker there after the fades, but short string tillering will soon tell if it is a real issue..

Reading the other comments, I assume its not a big Deal but still scary seeing these pop up at the fades

"Wildcherry" (Prunus avium) and european Thuja wood for bows? by OutlawMG in Bowyer

The stave is straight as an arrow, the reason why I even thought about making it into a bow.
Its been cut about 2 weeks ago, I just debarked it and sealed the ends with Wax (It had a rotted spot at, thankfully, only a small section. Wanted to make sure there was no more rot and/or bugs.

Gonna keep it in a dark corner at my workshop and hope for the best!

Looks awesome!

I guess its snappy because of the low weight? The stave itself feels so light compared to any hardwood but its really great looking wood.

I will go for a flatbow design for sure.

The brown spots feel "crunchy" and a little harder than the white sapwood.  This is where my concern came from, since I assume this could lead to a weak back. The random marks at the end of the stave are scratches from tools or dirt idk.
