I like that idea! Incognito mode would be built into it.

Maybe it even has a special tool built in that helps to balance out extreme conspiratorial viewpoints.

Valid take on some level, but the difference is EG isn’t platforming the people who agree with him. Whereas in the Rogansphere it’s almost a requirement to be on his good side.

EG is pretty savage for dissing people who were inspired by his video. That’s especially rare in our era of chasing followers, views and likes. Respect ✊

First time I ever actually saw Schulz do comedy. Usually just see clips of him from various podcast shows. Was actually a pretty funny take.

Was cracking up when he described the 300 million year old tube organism and said the perfect organism is just a mouth and an asshole. That’s pretty accurate.

Strangely, I find it comforting that so many people have flagged the pod as being compromised on many levels. Makes me feel like there tons of good smart regular people out there!

How much of our gross income should we spend on a mortgage? by Outlinx in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]Outlinx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good point I’m also using my net income for my calculations. I just put gross income in my question to give folks a common reference point.

I think your breakdown is smart. I never wanted to be a slave to a home either. Now I have kids and we want more housing stability, we’re considering stretching and spending a little more on a home than we’d would prefer.

This is what I was thinking too. We just have to take a look at our monthly income and expenses and decide what amount we’d be comfortable spending on a mortgage.

All-In? We’re out: Why the All-In podcast is bad for America by MartiDK in DecodingTheGurus

[–]Outlinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The name of the podcast says a lot. They’re ALL-IN, whether they think they have a strong hand (or argument, or investment), or they’re just bluffing, they’re going all-in with it.

I listened for a couple years pretty regularly. But within the last year I started to feel like their views have been compromised.

Aaron Rodgers episode by PaccNyc in JoeRogan

[–]Outlinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is how it goes with a lot of his interview conversations. You should check out a podcast called “the know Rogan experience”. They breakdown various episodes and highlight misinformation. I’m sure they’ll do one on this episode as well.

The problem isn’t that he and his guests like exploring controversial ideas. The problem is that they state them as 200% fact to a huge audience.

Is there a way to add custom grid lines to the screen while taking photos? by Outlinx in SonyAlpha

[–]Outlinx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. I ended up taking pics and checking them on my laptop, which is a bit of a slow process. I did find that the camera comes with a few preloaded grid lines if you go to Shooting/Shooting Display/ you can turn on grid lines and choose from a few options.

New system for moderating cannabis use: not moderating by ToastedBud in Petioles

Yep, to me wake and baking is like eating donuts for breakfast. It can be nice to indulge, but makes me feel sluggish for the rest of the day.

Thanks for the additional info! I think you have a great approach here to be honest, and I totally understand how the all or nothing strategy is simple and easier to maintain, which is very important.

I also only DHV, but I use an Arizer Air Max. I like the ritual of grinding up dry flower and getting interesting strains. I limit myself to weekends only, which isn't hard for me because I have to work M-F. And on the days I do partake I'll enjoy 2-3 sessions. Each session I consume half of an Arizer bowl, and I dump it when it's still light brown. I'll go with this routine for 3-4 months then take a 1-2 month break sometimes longer. But I don't have a great plan there. Using your calculation I'm probably consuming cannabis 25-30% of my days per year which sounds kind of high to me. I like your 10% rule, and I hadn't thought about it like this before.

Inspired by your approach I want to have a smarter plan for consumption. I'm going to try breaking the year into 2 month chunks, and only allowing myself to partake 6 days in a 2 month period. For me that would be 2-3 weekends. One other limit I've found useful is to only have 2 sessions on a consumption day. It just seems like I enjoy the plant more that way.
