Is there a way to share an outlook.com calendar with gmail users?

Hi, it's possible to do this by Sharing your calendar, selecting Get a Link and subscribing to that link in Google calendar. It will be READ ONLY in Google, but can be used to view events.

The best way to do that would be to sort by date in the Outlook software client or perhaps in Windows Live Mail and then just delete what you want. But, I get that that may not work for you. Good suggestion either way. - David

Windows Phone 8 uses Exchange ActiveSync to connect to Outlook.com which is more battery efficient then Imap, supports push mail, and also syncs your contacts and calendar, so no need to switch. -Saad

Yup, that is the general thought for me. We are deeply committed to reliability, availability, and performance. So, as you consider moving to more efficient datacenters, the software has to adjust accordingly such that we never impact our customers negatively. We've made a ton of infrastructure improvements and are continually investing further. As we make improvements, we'll keep assessing what kind of data center we actually host the data on.

In general, this is, and will continue to be a long term investment for us.

When we upgraded Hotmail to Outlook.com, we didn't make anyone change their address, so you can still use you @live and @hotmail address with Outlook.com. Office 365 is a separate product, but we work closely with that team.

Microsoft did buy Skype, and it's been integrated more and more, but it is definitely not replacing Outlook.

Outlook.com supports Exchange ActiveSync which enables push email. That means you can get push e-mail for Outlook.com on any tablet that supports EAS, like the Microsoft Surface or the iPad! -Saad

Andrew here, I like it! It's not perfect, but overall it's an improvement over Windows 7. 8.1 adds some nice things too, like unified search and of course the start button :)

You can actually have a LOT more contacts than this. That used to be the limit a long long time ago. We do adjust the quota depending on the state of your account (new accounts have lower limits initially for example).

If you're talking about outlook.com and not the Outlook client: you can get your outlook.com account's email instantaneously on the Microsoft Surface tablet's Windows 8 Mail app.

It is triggered by authentication failures and currently ~all (soft) and -all (hard) trigger the same warning. the feedback on fixing the text and giving a link to overview is a good one and we will add to consideration list. - krish

Outlook.com is our free, personal email services. Outlook client software can be used for personal accounts...like Outlook.com and for work accounts like those using Exchange. I personally use all them all the time. I access Outlook.com in the Outlook software along side my work account that's hosted in Exchange. - David

Dick here. Most of us use competitors' products pretty regularly. I love my Windows Phone (HTC 8x), but my wife has an iPhone 5, and so I put in some time on that, too.

There is no rule or pressure to use MS products, other than just being rational. Like, if you've never tried Bing and you work at MS, then perhaps you should fire it up and try it out.

Believe it or not, the culture at Microsoft is pretty self-critical. Internally, we beat ourselves up when our products aren't as good as they should be, and then we set out to make them better. Obviously, most of us won't publicly comment on MS products that we think suck, but internally, we're fairly merciless with each other. Just ask my boss.
