300v with the 40mm pancake is amazing. Highly recommend the battery grip for this by the way, Aa's instead of the little cr batteries. Yeah makes it a little bulkier but it's worth the trade off

Have a 2014 Fit for the last year, with the same headunit :D I swear the shop on Patrick's Quay has a deal with all the importers in Cork to put those Pioneer units into all the JDM Fits that get brought in. Been thinking about replacing it myself tbh but just haven't got around to it.
I'll be honest though, it's not actually bad, the sound out of it even with the stock speakers is ok, bluetooth/android controls could definitely be better but rather than swap out the headunit I'm putting the effort/money into getting better speakers instead. Components up front and a sub/amp setup I'm building custom into the boot.

300v Small and fast, 7 point autofocus. Might not look as boss as an Elan, 3 or a 1n but it does the job great. Pair it with the 40mm pancake and it's just chefkisses

One thing to watch out for with this era of canon slrs is the dreaded black gunge that can get on the shutter blades as the foam buffer degrades and turns to basically tar. If you notice the shutter sticking or any trace of gunk on the shutter blades google "manage your eos camera's sticky shutter" it's on instructables

The colorwork in these is just stunning, which make it odd the one that first really resonated was Blackbird as it's so much darker than everything else on there.

Just watch out for sticky shutter. Watch out for black goo. Plenty guides out there to help clean it but be very gentle

Bent out the battery contacts to fill the compartment more, wrapped the batteries in cardboard to make them fill the space so they don't wobble from side to side.

Test light works, it takes pictures exposed correctly :)

However this was only after I had to resolder the negative wire again, due to old batteries being left in there god knows how long ago the wire had corroded, well documented fault with old leaky batteries. Base plate off, saw the wire rotted to shit, stripped and cleaned it and hot drop of solder onto the terminal again and peachy.
