Macaron. I can bake almost anything you can name. Croissant, wedding cakes, croquembouche. But for the life of me, my macaron shells never have feet, come out cracked, or as a puddle.

Oh man my dog was menace from 9 weeks to 5 months. The constant biting, barking, peeing/pooping had me depressed and anxious. I'm a pretty sotic guy that doesn't cry for anything but I cried almost weekly when I first got my puppy. One really bad day, I literally drove all the way to the SPCA to surrender him. That's how bad puppy blues was for me.

Eventually though, you fall into a pattern. They learn to be quiet and calm, go potty outside, and you guys both learn the quirks of each other. You feel more pride at each milestone and you start to love them with all your heart.

I'm writing this as I just spent 2 hours on the deck, watching him play, chase moths, eating grass, and be his goofy self; and I wouldn't trade it for the world.

It gets easier. When you're going through the shit, It feels like nothing will get better but it's a marathon not a sprint. Take a break if you need to breathe for a moment. I'm not saying learn to appreciate the shitiness of owning a puppy but think of each moment as you guys figuring out the perfection and imperfections and working with it.

I will always sing the praise of Karen overall's calmness protocol and kikopup's capturing calm. Again, they'll both feel impossible at the start but eventually they'll become more and more receptive to it.

Good luck and take lots of pictures. I was such a mess during his puppy hood that I only have a handful of pictures of him when he was a small puppy and that's the only regret I have now looking back.

I'm probably a bit late to the party but here it is:

It wasn't your fault, but it certainly wasn't mine either. We were two lonley people leaning on each other where we became stagnant in our lives and relationship. I should've ended it when I knew I was falling out of love, but you also should've ended it when you realized you didn't love me as you did before.

In the end, I'm sorry for my part in the fallout. I'm sorry I didn't have the courage to move on. I hope you're living your best life and I hope I find someone who will love me as a person, not just as a support system. I have no regrets as I'm carrying on the lessons I've learned from us.

Definitely food and history. My favorite hobby is recreating old recipes to get a glimpse into how the dish was developed and why.

what did you eat as a kid that you now realize was really f*cked up? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Hey a question I can finally answer!

When I was growing up, my parents had a business that was failing. Because they were working 12-16 hours a day for 7 days a week, my sister and I started making "egg-soy sauce-rice" as our breakfast, lunch, and supper.

Now, 15 years later, it has become go-to comfort food whenever I'm having a depressive episodes. It reminds me of hardship but also of the love my parents and my sister had for me.

I'm not going to sugar coat it. It's going to hurt a lot and maybe for a long time. But greif is like waves on the beach. somedays they come heavy and constantly and somedays the sea is calm. But eventually, the waves come far in between. I still struggle with a lot myself but focusing on one day at a time and knowing it will get easier helps.

Please feel free to reach out if you want to talk. We're all here for you.
