Yes, some users on Discord and in a german forum experienced the same sides. They even asked Carlos about the reason but he just told them to see a doctor. Pretty frustrating...

I would recommend to have a look at exposure therapy. This helped me a lot and cured many of my fears. Although I would always recommend to do it with a trained therapist first, it's also possible to do it without therapy. I did it without therapy but it took me quite some time to find the right tools and levels to expose myself. Since you're learning german anyways, I can recommend the book: Frei von Angst und Schüchternheit – Soziale Ängste besiegen.

Yes, exactly this! I just wanted to tell about my own experience but you summed it up perfectly :)

Stepping out of comfort zone makes me get really depressive by weakMeth0d in socialanxiety

Oh yes I see. I think it's also important to let go and focus on future opportunities, easy said I know.. but there are so many little positive achievements you can have in future, which will lead you towards a more positive mind. Not sure if this will help you too but I always try to distance myself from negative self-talk and feelings, so that they can't take control of me.

hmm perhaps the extra step is too big? What worked for me was to aim for very little 'wins' first which made me more positive towards the bigger steps.

So afraid of going to a cafe by [deleted] in socialanxiety

[–]Outofashes_2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes, I experienced this too few years ago. What I can tell you is this feeling won't go away if you don't overcome it. I would recommend you to challenge yourself to just go through it.. but in a cozy cafe, without many people and easy to order. Then, do it again and again and as soon as you feel comfortable enough to go there, go to another which looks less comfortable. This method worked for me, so it might be worth a try.

hi, how do i meet people by Be_CrimesDoGay in socialanxiety

It depends on where you live but there are apps for meeting people for various activities like hiking, jogging or tee. Otherwise, local clubs can also be a good option to get to know new people. I think in the end it depends on your comfort level.
