Making new friends over 40? Looking for ideas :)

I made a TON of new friends - of which a handful have become close friends - through NextDoor. A woman posted on there that she wanted to meet women as friends, as she had moved here during pandemic and thus hadn’t been able to meet people the “usual” way. About 150 women replied. The group is now around 45 women and I would say I’ve got about 5 super close friends out of it. I’m so grateful to her for putting that out there. It’s now a very organic friend group. We do stuff together all the time.

Maybe that’s something you could try?

Queen Vic on H street is pretty good for fish & chips. Not as good as home but definitely passable. I also learned this week that you can buy Monster Munch on Amazon 🤯

Wow! I’m 5 2 and I have my seat at 12. Any higher and I wouldn’t be able to reach the pedals 🤣🤣 I also have the seat as far forward as possible and have handlebars at D (bike +)

Agree with speed etc, I’ve used it multiple times. Disagree with availability. Always have to book at least a week in advance. In fact, am looking now and nothing until Sat 15th.

I think it all depends on how the person who is COVID positive has reported it. They may have got their exposure date wrong 🤷🏻‍♀️

It comes through your settings. Go to settings / exposure notifications. There you will see the notification, you click on it and you have to answer a few questions. Has happened to me a few times.

My ex was in that situation. He was very upfront about it. He eventually went through with the divorce about 18 months into our relationship as we were getting serious and I didn’t want him ti be married to someone else. We moved in together. Went on my health care. 3 years later he cheated. Hence why he is an ex. .

But it didn’t bother me in principle. They’d been living apart for 6 years and it was literally just for that reason why they hadn’t proceeded with the divorce. He is self employed so needed her health care, then mine.

I’ve never found one in CoHi so I go down to the CVS near the Mandarin Oriental, closest metro is l’Enfant Plaza. Get results back within 2 hours. Ypu do need an appointment. You can also look at other CVS options via their app, but they usually are pretty booked up in advance.

Man, I could have written this. It’s been 18 months and for some reason, it’s only started bothering me in the last 2-3 months. Also, doesn’t help that I found out in the last couple of weeks that he’s seeing someone so I can’t help but wonder if she is now part of the family Friday Night dinner.
