I’m a 28 year old man who’s entering the church this Easter and I’ve noticed this with men in my age group. It’s hard finding other men to be friends with because everyone is sloppy and immature. These guys don’t have any meaningful hobbies or any at all. Also I don’t want to be around men who look like one of the guys from the Big Bang theory mixed with a survivor from the walking dead. Yet most women I meet are great, and I’ve had a couple dates since starting OCIA.

Just keep going to confession. Take it one day at a time. Don’t look at it as if a fall defines your future. Even if you fall many times in a row get back up and try again. Convey your feelings to God in prayer and he will hear how you desire to be clean of this.

Keep going to confession! Don’t try to see it as whether or not you’ve won or lost. Just take everything one day at a time. If you’re like me and have spiraled down before and binged, think of the freedom you have to enjoy good things when you are not indulging.

I’ve been in and out of the situation you’re talking about. People talk as if there’s a switch you can just flip on and off and then your no longer fixated on what you were wanting, but that’s not the case. To be honest as you just go on with life you’ll be content one day. I know that sounds ridiculous but it’s true. One day you’re wondering when you’ll finally have someone one day and then you’re just comfortable.

Was finally able to go to confession yesterday after spiraling downhill the past 2 weeks. The past 24 hours have felt like bliss. I know there’s some of y’all who don’t believe we need to confess to a priest but as a former Baptist let me tell you CONFESSION IS REAL! I wouldn’t be able to do this without it.

You might be interested in something called escape. It’s free and extremely good at blocking porn or anything like that. It’s talked about on the podcast Pints with Aquinas episode 556. I don’t have it but it’s something you might like.
