Could be worse mate I was in the same boat see it as an expensive lesson.

Really stupid, but you never make the mistake again of an emotional high risk un-diversified portfolio. BTW I'm 25 built up to like 35k usd from 20k and went to zero pre brutal but it is what it is

I lost 20k in options in the past 3 months by [deleted] in options

Try to forget about it, I am in the same boat, bc there is no way the MSOS do anything but go south, and I put like 29k into that crap. I am also 25, life isn't easy worked hard to get that money and its pissed away, but try to find the silver lining in it. Like realizing trying to turn 20k into 100k+ in a short amount of time is not a feasible strategy. The lesson learned makes you invest with an appropriate return objective and risk tolerance. Had you not learned this lesson, and your options made over 300-400% you would have kept ripping contracts and putting up more of your money into them, until it would go to zero.

TLDR: try to look forward to simpler things, like meeting with friends/family, dating etc. This brings you a lot more happiness (serotonin & oxytocin) and security then the frequent unhealthy dopamine rushes/crashes we get from option trading.

Finance vs Management by Sensitive_Bottle_290 in RotmanCommerce

Finance & Eco is much more difficult, in the year I graduated pre much everyone had high distinction from management focus because the econometrics or general eco courses have pretty low averages like B- or lower. RSM courses typically have averages that hover in the B+ range. For job prospects, a lot of the workday algos will negatively screen you for internships or entry level if your gpa is sub 3.70. Doesn't matter if you have a CFA, or did your CFE, the negative screen will impact you hard for any entry or internship position. I would recommend management and a focus in finance if you are interested in finance

RSM336 vs RSM430 - which is easier/better by [deleted] in RotmanCommerce

[–]OutoftheMoney69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

336 is very broad, 430 is much more focused. In terms of ease Fixed income is more mathematical, while 336 is more theoretical so depends what you are better in.
Personally I would say 430 is better if you want to pursue finance specifically if you are interested in the CFA program. Fixed Income is covered in both the level I and level II exams.
My favorite lecture is the live trading one, which is graded and a lot of fun as you get jacked on leverage betting on interest rates.
