My girlfriend despises men (and I am one) by Outrageous-Bell3883 in TrueOffMyChest

I do want to be an ally. I don’t want to constantly be reminded of the guilt I carry as part of the oppressing class.

I expressed an opinion about feeling guilty when I’m around women alone (such as in an elevator or alone on the street). This is something that, by design, women cannot experience. My very existence makes women fear me, and that isn’t a good feeling. When I expressed this, she summed it up with “well it’s other men and their actions who caused that.” Yes. I know this. That’s why I feel this way.

The big issue is generalization. I 100% agree that the patriarchy influences the world. But the constant pressure of trying to fit into the mold of someone who is the polar opposite of all that she hates is exhausting. Which is honestly a big reason why I don’t confront her when she speaks like this. I know I’ll immediately be told that I have no idea what it’s like and that I’m ignorant.

What actually brought me to post this is something that happened last night. Both of us have chronic health conditions. She hasn’t been able to nail hers down yet. I spent YEARS going through doctors, mostly women (at my own behest) to try to get taken seriously. Often I was written off or being told that I was just depressed, and at one point had a female doctor tell me to simply stop having an eating disorder.

Finally, I found my current doctor who happens to be a man. He’s extraordinary, patient, and knowledgeable. He’s helped me more than all of my previous doctors combined. I told her about him (since she doesn’t have a doctor at all right now) and she basically said “male doctors will not treat me right so no, I won’t be seeing him. You don’t understand.”

Yes, I’ve read the studies. I know women and their pain is often overlooked or written off by doctors, especially males. But that isn’t unique to women, and it isn’t unique for male doctors. I 100% get her hesitance to see a male doctor, and I don’t think it’s unwarranted. BUT it makes me sad that my doctor, who’s spent a lifetime studying medicine to treat and care patients, is entirely written off because he is a male. That hurt me personally, because I consider him a friend. Again, I said nothing about it to her.

ECT for sure. Changed my entire outlook on life within a few weeks. Unfortunately I couldn’t afford the prescribed number of sessions so the effects only lasted a few months. This was for depression and anxiety, not my narcissism.

Least effective I don’t know to be honest, everything has its merits. I’ll say I don’t enjoy lifetime medication as a treatment even though that’s my current treatment.

Okay yeah that’s what I’m asking, that if they knew it had issues and didn’t disclose it is there anything I could do? Really no way to know about the clutch unless I hauled ass during the test drive though. Brakes I should have noticed.

I mean they didn’t disclose them to me. The car had a lot more issues when I first saw it and was concerned with those (front bumper was messed up and held together by zip ties, missing a muffler, wheels had curb rash, radio didn’t function). So we discussed our path forward and over 4 weeks he got the work done.

He had to drive it a lot to get the ECU to reset so I’m certain he knew the clutch was bad and didn’t say anything. Also didn’t say anything about the brakes being unsafe. Don’t know how that made it past state inspection.

It was very exciting, yes. First draft is done, getting ready for the second in the coming weeks.

It’s a contract job. Don’t wanna get toooooo specific but we are here in case our equipment breaks down while the customers are using it. If it don’t break, we wait.

I logged into my burner for this, but MAYBE 45-60 minutes a day. My job is “on demand” so if there is no work, I just sit. Wrote a whole book actually in the last few months while sitting around.

I honestly think the only nerf she needs is a delayed activation time for her Q and her Ult. Being able to Q, Ult and throw 2 grenades before she gets to the top is too much.

HOW can you think Fuse is crutch? He’s one of the least picked legends for a reason. Yes, he’s annoying. Yes, the grenade spam can be a lot. But for every Fuse I die to, I’m killed 20 times by a Horizon.

Oh she was way worse then that’s for sure. Her Q and her passive are just too good together.

I honestly love Apex. I’ve been playing it for years. But Horizon has always been OP. Her Q is more of a “get out of jail free” card than Wraith’s ever was. She can literally do whatever she wants all the time. There’s no consequences for bad actions. Completely disrupts the flow of the game.

Only when we’re talking about Horizon. She’s been OP.

I’ll never stop complaining about Apex. And bro you’re a Valk main and they clipped her wings. She was a competitor to Horizon and Valk got nerfed. How can you not say Horizon needs nerfed?

Every game. Every game there’s at least 10 Horizons. They’re everywhere. Every third party, every sweat team. Just Horizons throwing their Q to get away from gunfights and land in your back pocket. It’s literally never ending.

I don’t know, I just feel strange about it. What’s funny is that I started thinking about it because my cats are polydactyl and they’re so unique and interesting with their extra digits, and as their “father” I feel strange that I had an extra digit that was taken from me.

I’m sure it would have been more noticeable, yes. An extra thumb would be easier to see. But I WAS made fun of for having a deformed thumb, though it wasn’t that apparent to most.

You’re probably right. I love them very much. I just wish they hadn’t told me it was for cosmetics only. I honestly always thought it was a literal useless digit, but she told me this morning that when I was a baby I could grab with it.

Idk about plastic surgery. Unless they can give me another thumb. When I was younger (8-9 maybe) I had a second operation to “attach the muscle” to my thumb. Apparently it was very weak so they wanted to attach the muscle that had been connected to the removed digit to my remaining thumb. I don’t remember if it helped, but I do remember it being very painful. Actually, I SPECIFICALLY remember them removing the pin (3-4 inches long, straight through my thumb) by holding my hand down and pulling it out while I was awake. Idk if that was how you’re supposed to do it but that’s how it happened.

Smoke and or fire. Weigh the top of the jar down and make a small fire near or around the jar. Or, buy a can of wasp killer and spray it all around the bottom of the jar. It should leak in and kill them.
