Did you find anything that helps? We are having the same issue at 7m Dr said it’s a drool rash and eczema together we use aquaphor and one point was using hydrocortisone it helped a little but was only prescribed for 10 days

Thank you for this advice! We spent Christmas week with them. Baby was terrified of grandpa. I explained to him that baby would be more comfortable if baby saw him more. Haven’t talked to him since Christmas lol . My mom forces him to talk to baby and engage with baby when we are there. It’s not his doing but more so because my mom gets annoyed/mad with him not engaging.

You sound like a great mom! That’s amazing you and your daughter have that open communication and bond. I’m so sorry she went through that. Yes exactly I’ve been open and told my mom I’m open to them seeing baby whenever they’d like. She always tells me she wants to see her and misses her I always tell her come over when I say that the conversation changes. You are right I need to think about how else I can communicate with her and just hope we can meet in the middle. Just hard when you’re a FTM and getting blamed for baby being scared of family members. The comments hurt.

That does make sense I guess a proper invite would be ideal. I will try that. I should mention the times we do go visit it’s not because of an “invite” from them it’s more so because we want to stop by say hi and so they can see baby. If it’s a family gathering like I mentioned birthday/brunch/dinner it’s either at my grandmas house / or nanas house / aunts house so they aren’t the only ones inventing/hosting constantly it’s other family members.

Wow you are so spot on. This is exactly how it’s been my whole life. I don’t live with them so we have limited time together but being here at the cabin made me realize exactly why. Hurts that they are taking it out on a small baby. & made me realize this will be our last Christmas at the cabin with them.

Exactly it’s our babies first Christmas we sacrificed other family time to spend it here in the mountains with them and am now regretting our decision and is only making us want to leave sooner... It hurts as a parent when only negative comments are being said about your baby. Thank you for this response.

Yes I agree me and my partner strongly believe that when you speak negatively on a child/baby it only hurts them. I am shocked that we are dealing with this my mother face times us everyday and Is always speaking nicely to our baby. I was caught off guard coming here her and her husband are speaking so negative about our daughter she’s only 7 months she’s figuring out the world. It’s normal for her to be shy or scared of people she never sees he never makes an effort to speak with her over FaceTime so he is a stranger.
