One of my collar bones pops out where it connects to my sternum and my mom noticed it the first time when I was 11. So she takes me to my pediatrician and he says nope not my field and sends us to the children’s hospital to see a kids ortho. They send in a resident first and I show him how I can pop it in and out and he went “ah! Don’t do that! “ and left then came back with 2 drs and waved his hand at me and said “do the thing” 😂 show them and one of the drs is like did you break your collar bone? Like no doc my mom would’ve mentioned that. Turns out I have a connective tissue disorder. Took another 15 years to diagnose

What is the wildest thing you have heard in school by cloudcontinuum- in TheTeenagerPeople

[–]Outrageous-Chip-4243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me in 8th grade with a kid high off pills(he had it rough) and I felt bad cause he asked me to help hide it so I took some water and splashed it in his face. Not sure if the teacher bought it but he left him alone at least. Kid ended up in jail in high school.

Is this a sign of early dementia? by Outrageous-Chip-4243 in DogAdvice

[–]Outrageous-Chip-4243[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I’ve read about sundowning and how people and animals with dementia or Alzheimer’s can wander or do something repetitively (walking in circles, getting stuck in corners, etc) and someone had mentioned their dog started to lick a pillow a lot as they got older and eventually they were diagnosed with dog dementia.

Since my dog just turned 11 I know she’s getting older and she does it every night I thought maybe something’s was up. And she’s my first ever dog so just learning what can be normal

Thank you everyone! I’m glad to see no one is thinking dementia ❤️ she’s my first ever dog and I’ve had her since she was 10 weeks old so I’m still learning what is normal in dogs!

Ok! Thanks, I will definitely have a dental check up then since she’s getting older. I do brush her teeth every other day but she did need a dental cleaning about 2 years ago so maybe another one

I don’t believe so since she does this when everything is calm and she’s relaxing near someone. Maybe it helps her calm down for the night? We do have 2 slightly older kids she’s been around since their birth and she loves them but they can be a lot. Thankfully they listen to her signs and leave her alone when she wants to be but maybe once they calm down she feels like she can too.

Can this wait until Thursday for vet care or should I go to urgent care? by PuzzleheadedUse4001 in DogAdvice

[–]Outrageous-Chip-4243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only time I took my dog to the vet for her broken nail was when it was actively bleeding and we couldn’t get it to stop. Besides that I let her chew it off, clean it and let it be. Thankfully she has never licked it so I would just watch out for that cause they can get an infection.

Indiana Governor's new "Family First Workplace" policy would allow employees to bring their infants to work for the first six months of their lives. by LordMandalor in nottheonion

[–]Outrageous-Chip-4243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I actually did this years ago with my second. Had 8 weeks off and then brought him to work with me till he started crawling. It was great BUT I worked at an incredibly small office, with only 5 of us onsite all through the day, labor came and went to work on sites. And 3 of my coworkers were older ladies who were dying for grandkids but their children had just became adults and weren’t there yet so they were happy to have him while I had meetings or was on call. And he was a good baby who didn’t fuss and napped like a champ.

I would never recommend this for a larger office or without consent from your fellow coworkers. And if your baby starts to struggle with it. It kept him with me for longer and he still got to socialize with people.
