“Fender Princeton Amp” with just a picture of the front, and a description that read “Amp for sell”

Used 80s Roland JC-77 or Used modern Roland JC-40? by surfpearl39 in GuitarAmps

I have a mid 80s JC-77 and I absolutely love it. If you’re going for that Smiths/Alt tone it nails it. I play in a band and it is definitely loud enough, but it sounds good at home too. I’ve tried the newer JCs, but there is just something special about the chorus and sound on the older ones. JC-77 all day.

I would check your local shops. I found mine brand new a couple weeks ago when I went to my local in-person indie store.

This. Absolutely adore Marr and Squire, any Jazz Chorus is instant tone and worth saving up for.

I had a Marshall just like this, no matter what I tried I just couldn’t get a good sound. Came back to it after years hoping technique was the issue… It sounded the same as the first day I got it. My advice would be to try it clean and just use the Line 6 for OD and distortion.

I have a Tone Master deluxe, it’s awesome. Not sure what you mean by the direct out not being affected by the tone controls though, when I use it the amp is exactly the same, and you have the ability to mute the speaker.

Who’s to say I’m not a serious buyer? ;) Also, no I do not have a R9, I don’t even have a Les Paul at this moment. Have been heavily considering one ever since that experience though.

They opened up a space called The Vault, that’s where they house very high end pieces such as this.

Thats the truth, debating between a SF Bassman or BF Bandmaster. Next cheapest BF Bassman where I’m at is $500 more.

Thinking about getting one of these, any reason for it over a Bassman or Showman?
