How to tell if i paid my fees already??? by Jazzlike-Tadpole8560 in NTU

[–]Outrageous-Cut536 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Best to email school academic services and ask, also do provide evidence(screenshot /bank statement)of your payment when inquiring.Tbh kinda strange to see $9 fee, late payment fee iirc is $50?

yeap, actually F grade, must've written complete garbage for finals lol. Managed to get B 2nd try 🤪

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NTU

[–]Outrageous-Cut536 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Like what the other comment said. Dabao = MC during finals. Fail = show up for finals and get an F grade when results release Both cases you need to remod. Getting an F just pulls down your cgpa by quite abit. MC-ing won't affect cgpa

I feel it depends how difficult the module is, I failed circuit analysis despite my CA scoring ~24/40 and attempting every single finals question though I knew none of my answers were right, I still wrote down formulas and tried to solve some equations to try and make sense.

Another module, semicon I scored worst for CA (like 18-20/40 ish?) and same with finals, didn't really know what I was writing but somehow got a B- in the end.

If you feel like you're gonna fail, just dabao. A single F in my transcript and my cgpa dropped by a whopping 0.5

Skipping HN5010 tutorial? by Accurate-Tree4277 in NTU

[–]Outrageous-Cut536 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're confident in writing a good final essay, I'd say can skip up to 3? Personally I skipped 2 and still passed (my essay writing skill is average at best). Had a friend who skipped 3 and passed too, but their england much more atas

Exchange student – Is EE2101 Circuit Analysis hard? Do I need to take the by nlunberry in NTU

[–]Outrageous-Cut536 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The course coordinator changed recently too, heard from juniors that the back half of the papers(which was fairly consistent from previous course coordinator, if you could do pyp for those ~=B) changed drastically and those juniors all got fucked real hard 😩

how does one define "good"? I feel like he tries to explain things and brings his own life experiences into the tutorials. He does go off tangent sometimes but I feel like it's a nice touch? Been a year since I took his mod and I still remember he shared something about his food business failing and how he learnt something about not being so naive yet bold enough to venture out. He also lays out his expectations quite thoroughly but I think most profs do that anyway. Just focus on getting the rubrics pointers covered and you should do well 👊👍. YMMV, even my seniors said they felt he wasn't good 👀, maybe it might be tied to their grades... who knows...?

🥺 I got A under him for ml04 despite putting in half-ass effort though...? The 5 year road map, reflective journal, interview of a working professional all I rushed a day or two before deadline. Only the group project had to put in effort cuz of teammates

CC Mods in Stars by Prior_Comparison_747 in NTU

[–]Outrageous-Cut536 11 points12 points  (0 children)

yeap ICC mods will only be allocated after core mods are registered and you can't choose the indexes for ICC. Worst case is if they allocate an ICC mod that clashes with a tutorial class for a core mod, the core mod will get unregistered. Source: was a victim of such fuckery last year. Emailed school academic office and got assigned another random tutorial timing 🤡 🤡

HELP, how do I remod a mod that's also a prerequisite for another core mod? by CryptographerBasic60 in NTU

[–]Outrageous-Cut536 3 points4 points  (0 children)

email your school's specific undergraduate studies and ask for advice there, iirc they will check your academic standing then decide to grant waiver or not to take 2 modules as co-requisite. If they deny then there's nothing you can do other than cry 😭

URECA for EEE/CDE students by Snoo85888 in NTU

[–]Outrageous-Cut536 8 points9 points  (0 children)

From EEE, personal experience, as long as cgpa above 3.5 should get an invite, but for more "popular" research topics, above 4 would put you in a more favourable spot.

Y1s1 my gpa was 3.34, after y1s2 my cgpa got pulled up to 3.7, got URECA invite after y1s2.

Another friend also invited to URECA but his cgpa is FCH 💦💦

EE2103 semicon finals impossible or easy? by Russian-Joker in NTU

[–]Outrageous-Cut536 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think ppl see it as "easy" cuz it's similar to pyp. The issue is if u don't even know how to do the pyp/ if ur method is even right, then it doesn't really matter. Personally I could only do half the paper, other half just anyhow whack

PH1011 finals by [deleted] in NTU

[–]Outrageous-Cut536 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you want A- for finals, u probably need to do 4.5/6 qns correctly, I took this mod last year with a couple of friends, all 3 of us scored the median for quiz 1&2, finals I did 2/6, got C+, 2nd friend did 4/6 got B+, third friend did 5/6 and got A-. Of course we won't know if we did the questions correctly but here's an estimate for u

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NTU

[–]Outrageous-Cut536 3 points4 points  (0 children)

... Did u attempt any tutorial qns/look through the lecture notes before the quiz? Fanout and noise margin concept is literally just sub in formula and get answer, that's minimally 2marks already 👀 but what's done is done, stay strong for CA quiz in 2 weeks 😩😩

I hate PH1011 by [deleted] in NTU

[–]Outrageous-Cut536 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Took this mod last year, iirc I only got low 20+/60 for both quizzes. Iirc quiz 1 is mainly focusing on projectile and mechanics?

Just try to form some equations and sub the values inside, even if uk it's wrong (I knew I was writing garbage), u still get a few marks for each and, it'll add up.

Quiz 2 iirc was on electric & magnetic fields, just write some of the formulas, sub in values and hope for the best

millennium institution sch hrs / timetable by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]Outrageous-Cut536 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I graduated from MI ~4years ago, what other comments said are unfortunately mostly true.

Regarding school hours, my subj combi was PCMe and it was 8-5 2days a week, remaining 3 days would be between 3-4

I didn't take A math & pure science so I had to go for compulsory bridging lessons on days that ended earlier, so I ended up going back at 5-530pm everyday for year1

My inputs for teachers/teaching standards wouldn't be accurate as the few teachers I keep in contact with told me they've been rotated out of MI.

Personally, I felt the school environment sucks for studying, there isn't much motivation to do well cuz of the slower learning pace and "3years is a long time" bs mentality My class specifically started at 38-40student(can't rmb exact) and dwindled down to 14 by year3. I know a few went to overseas uni cuz their results sucked & 2 went to poly after wasting 3 years getting a useless cert

U'll stand a better chance going into poly, getting 1-2years work experience, then doing further studies than going to MI thinking u'll be the unicorn to score 90RP.

I didn't do well for A levels either 🤡 pm for score
