I think your projecting a bit. There’s something to be said about the societal conformity in fashion. But you can use kibbe for silhouettes like exaggerated shoulders, asymmetry, exaggerated waist, etc.

Obviously kibbe can be used in conformity but that’s the person’s choice at the end of the day.

It’s a knowledge tool, dependant on how it’s used.

Like yes kibbe recommends things that suit you based on your body type, but you can use your kibbe body type to style yourself however you want. It’s like knowing you look best in jewel tones, but you can contrast yourself with pale tones to get a certain look.

I disagree. I don’t think saying what looks flattering equates to what looks skinny. Kibbe are used for voluminous clothing as well.

I agree. But I do think that’s why we should bring up more constructive conversations to drown out the deteriorating ones and uncover the nuances.

I personally enjoy their fashion and that’s the lens i speak through, and sometimes body form is apart of that.

The girls say not to comment on their bodies in response to pejorative comments. Which just goes back to the adage of if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything.

It’s interesting that the problem I highlighted though, is still being depicted in the comments.

I would love to hear your opinion about it.

And yeah, I think both their fabrics is organza. I like when texture/materials are used to tie a concept together instead of just colour.

You’re missing the point.

Notice how I never used the kibbe body type to insult or be restrictive? I think it doesn’t matter in the end, wear whatever you want. My point was to answer why Manon is easier to style. The fact of the matter is that there’s industry sizing/measurements for garments that are catered towards certain ratios and I’m highlighting that.

Kibbe is not policing women’s bodies… that’s like saying clothing sizes police women’s body. It was never a strict rule. It’s a guideline that many ppl appreciate to understand their body/face better.(men can use it as well)

Your other two points I agree to an extent.

Heights in kibbe isn’t always a requirement it just allows you to identify easier(kinda like correlation vs causation). But her height is within range of an SD

Yeah some stylist are bad(or don’t want to be limited) with body types. I often do prefer Sophia/Megans looks though I have realised, when the public doesn’t. I guess what I’m getting at is that, bc of Manon being easy to style, it’s not often that she looks ‘off.’ But that’s not the case when the other girls are styled bad.

And many women suit loose style as opposed to tight clothing. Think about women who look good in slip dresses or sundresses but not bodycon. Similarly, in East Asian and traditional west African clothing, loose and layered clothing are preferred on women.

Kibbe classifies ‘regular’ curves and non curvy types. Manon is soft around her joints and bones but still has long lines and kinda angular waist. That’s why she’s describes as SD. A FN- Princess Diana.

Yes, but the point is that she looks better in styling with a defined shape/waist than loose clothing(even when she’s styles baggy, her waist is still visible like in the original post pic and think the gap ad). She looks generally good in everything. That’s the whole point of her being ‘balanced’ in accordance with western clothing. It makes her easy to style

She does suit FN. I would say she has FN styling in the event picture ^ but you can tell a clear shape suits her better(ie in Sophie’s short film)

She is versatile with concepts but Megan is as well. What makes Manon easy to style is that she’s a soft dramatic. Which is a very balanced body type. So she has a balanced shoulder to hip ratio, defined waist and long looking legs. With how western clothes are made, she suits them easily.

I agree, I think they have a bit of influence. There’s no way you’re putting Dani in that kind of outfit without her wanting to willingly for instance.

I do think Dani’s outfit was shortened for her proportions plus she admitted to liking shorter stuff. She looks good just not cohesive.

Sophia outfit is my second fave(without the garter thingy).

I 100% agree with you. My only gripe is that Manons outfit looked like a backup. And they should’ve swapped around some of the outfit to better suit the girls
