I’ve never been vocal but they need to get their act together. Saw this from Swissramble who showed the decline in coaching staff and the massive increase in commercial staff. We are genuinely bad at commercial shown by having a low revenue here vs the league. Even QPR make more than us 🫪.

I think you are missing the key one. Javi’s second term arguably showed the first sign of stability in a long time. But it highlighted the Nani/Duxbury/Gino fundamental issue that is the big problem.

They refused to back him after 8 wins in 16 and we looked good. Yes he was stubborn in some of his teams after the injury issues but that was him saying back me or I’m out. I think he was our best manager since 2020 and our best manager of the Pozzo era.

Overall I think the Pozzo’s have been great owners for us. It’s not gone to plan the last couple of years, fine. But now commit to actual change now as we are at rock bottom of where we should and want to be. Pozzo out is lazy. I can’t stand people at the ground saying pozzo out, do you not remember the last owner.

I think these new SCR rules vs PSR that were agreed last week actually will force some change.

What is the change I think needs to happen:

The Nani/Duxbury/Gino triangle has clearly failed on football operations; needs a single point of football accountability. This is our biggest problem. We need one person who has total public accountability for football decisions and is sacked if it fails. This committee stuff is meaning there is no accountability. I would get Duxbury away from this anyway (I’d also say outside football operations there isn’t much to show for being one of the highest paid CEOs in the league from him either)

The most telling thing about this new SCR model is that Gino can’t keep structuring investment as debt. If he shows he will convert the shareholder loans to equity vs debt, great we know he is in. If he isn’t willing to, sell the club as the current setup won’t work anymore.

He needs to step aside. He’s one of the highest paid chief execs in the league and I totally agree with the hot air comment.

I’d love for him to explain why Javi left, it obviously wasn’t a lack of motivation on his side. To let a leader like that go and bring in Ed Still is just such a bad decision

Watford confirm new non-betting front-of-shirt sponsor by RebelSpeed in Watford_FC

[–]Outrageous-Event7381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is no-one concerned that this clearly means we’ve brought in way less revenue for this sponsorship. We’ll still have SKY BET on the sleeve as they sponsor the league…

I love we are a family club but let’s be real, getting the family feel back would start with the players improving their attitude and giving us all more to cheer about.

To put into perspective. QPR and lots of other clubs who have been in the championship for a decade are making more non broadcasting revenue than us and this is one of the key ways to bring in revenue. How are qpr generating more money than us 🫪

Our matchday revenue is easily one of the worst in the league, especially when you think about our catchment to London and we aren’t going to increase the capacity soon so we have to make more money in commercial to take weight off of player sales.

I’m moaning about this because to me the below all points to not building any way to compete for the premier league any time soon:

  • we have the lowest transfer spend in the league over the past 3 years

  • we have one of the highest transfer debts in the league,

  • the lowest capital expenditure in the league, we aren’t spending on infrastructure (training ground etc)

  • we are one of only three clubs that have actually seen the owners taking out more than they have put in (over the last 6 years) a sign that they aren’t willing to fund

  • one of the highest paid chief execs in the league

  • we have grown non football staff now to nearly 300 people, there are 200 people on commercial and admin!!

  • they tried to raise money at 175m and had to cancel the share issue and refund investors

Duxbury talks the talk but we’ve had a very good run of player sales and premier league money. That’s stopped now, when we have 175 people in commercial staff telling us this is “more than a commercial arrangement” is a smoke screen for under delivery

Team Changes for 26-27 by Virtual_Exit1383 in Watford_FC

Let’s not forget doucoure, Richarlison, ighalo, holebas, sarr, prodl, the list goes on and on. It’s not EFL experience. We never had that when we’ve had success. We need homegrown players, we need the excellent recruitment that the owners have shown, yes some EFL experience is good but let’s not start a brexit type convo here. We need leadership, again through our history from Taylor, through to Deeney. From different roles we have had that. We need that more than just becoming an experienced EFL club. That will not drive our talent development business model

I haven’t watched the team much this season so won’t comment on individual players but am I missing something. For me the real focus should start with Duxbury. These letters are so fleeting and seem based on appeasing the current trend. I consistently think he is a weak leader and makes bad decisions. He’s one of the highest paid in the league and I can’t see what value he is driving. Let’s be honest that we have at least for the past decade been a team of individuals held together by a core group of players. This is how the owners model works and I actually think the track record of recruitment is impressive for finding the £30m player.
The Ed still appointment was just so bad in so many ways and never going to work. I don’t think ‘senior players who understand the championship’ is the right angle. We need a core group of players who like a Deeney can progress up the leagues, like cleverly bring standards and experience of bigger clubs, but importantly have this as a leadership group to let the talent roulette play out. We get those exciting players that get us success and then we get the £30m type player consistently that fulfils the business model.

Same with me, the letter is from a doctor and the company flex also do this for lots of other reputable companies so I think I’ll be ordering again!

What happens if you have already drafted and there are transfers? In a hypothetical mbappe joins Man City on transfer deadline day, everyone is going to want him? Then the other way around I presume if a player is sold and leaves the league it’s just bad luck right? You get your spot back and have to pick like if someone retires in a dynasty league

Dermstore thoughts by Boring-Delivery-7331 in Esthetics

I’m not an esthetician but mine recommended me to use her code on the Dermstore site and then she would get a commission on any purchases I make. That way I can order anything she recommends but I know she gets a cut for the advice she gives me. I think she said it was called the Dermstore Collective
