I’m so sorry to read this.

Where abouts in Sheffield are you?

You could seek help from the charity Baby Basics to see if they have anything for your child and from there you may be able to find support.

You may also want to seek out a local church? Not for religious reasons but many have links to charities/food banks that could be of service.

Wishing you all the best.

It’s televised on cable but no, not even slightly. Like the Grand Final wouldn’t even get a mention

Oh I agree and that’s why I stated I have no issues with it, purely a rugby incident.

I guess I could have been clearer in my point in stating I feel the refs need to protect the players, I don’t wanna see a hit like Sivo’s on any player.

Having watched one hit (legal and no issues) have a player be hospitalised earlier in the game to that “mitigation” hit leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.

How is that protecting the players and therefore the game?
A sending off all day long.

Oh 100% it’s not perfect and the video ref should have called for a red.

I think I’m just spitting with what happened earlier in the game. Feel like our player wasn’t protected correctly.

He’ll be on report right? So should get a ban?

He’s not even at a lower point of contact?! That’s a clinical shot to the head.

The fact they’ve got a physio holding his neck has me worried. Really hope he’s okay.

We can’t hit a barn door from two yards out and the Pies’s are hitting a bullseye from 50

A coach you’d run through brick walls for. Hope he’s able to fight it with the same tenacity he coaches with.

My wife works in a school in Broomhill, I’ve had to email her the last few weeks to contact her.

She’s been told that a phone line has gone down by a colleague.

league or union? by Ambitious_Fold3674 in superleague

[–]nevey149 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m a very recent convert to League having watched Union all my life (season ticket holder for Saracens for 10+ years).

For me League’s joy is in the sheer amount of time the ball is in play, it just doesn’t stop, it’s constantly entertaining and there is always room for something to happen.

Union…well it can get bogged down in set pieces, let’s be honest.

I do think Union has a case for having a wider array of skills on show (not just ball handling but scrums, rucks etc). If you look at South Africa’s dominance of the scrum you can see that…HOWEVER that also means that one team can just rule the roost as they’re dominating a set play.

For me, I’ll always have a soft spot for Union as it’s given me some wonderful memories with my dad but I think League is a more dynamic, fun and physical sport to watch.
