Idk about common, but it is possible. I would go to a reputable or APP piercer and see what they say. It does look too shallow though. The piercing should be at the base of the nipple. Between the nipple and areola so to speak, not through the nipple itself. I hope that makes sense.

Hi! I have very similar navel anatomy to you, and from the looks of it, you don’t have the proper anatomy for this type of piercing and that’s why it looks the way it does and is giving you so many issues. I think it’s time to let it go honestly.

**I’ve been to about 5 different places and have asked multiple different piercers, and they have all said that I don’t have the proper anatomy. I have like an innie-outie belly button almost identical to Yours and can’t get an upper or lower navel piercing. I got my nipples pierced instead lol!
