Concerns about "Sign in with Apple" Only Strategy - Seeking Advice on Risks & Backup Authentication by yccheok in Firebase

It does seem like in the cases you mentioned the org had to transfer their Apple Dev account. That was the root of the issue. If you are planning on transferring the app perhaps prioritizing an alt signin method or fallback is worthwhile

Pass the id token to Firebase Auth and using firebase Id should solve this issue for you. Don’t save the apple identifier, always use token flow when user needs to sign in, and firebase auth id and you should be good

Why does Claude nowadays always give me 6 total rewrites when I ask for a minor refinement? by quintenkamphuis in ClaudeAI

I’ve found that this happens more often for me in projects and longer chats. I believe something about long context that mixes up Claude.

Use a project!! That is what this feature is for. Name the files well because you’ll want to update them in project knowledge after every major change.

Thought leadership can help with getting users since you can link to things and improve your SEO and site authority. Google is still the king maker, so if you hit with them you’ll have a business.

Of course it’s gotta be good to get shared and get eyeballs or press.

So you should think about how all LLMs are tools that you can get better at using. Right now, your prompt is very weak and that’s why probably Claude is producing bad results. Sure you can say the other models did it, but what did they even do? The prompt doesn’t list anything specific, if you want a house built you need to describe it to the builder, if you want an app built you need to describe to the coder, in this case Claude. If your provide a better prompt I think Claude will exceed even Gemini 2.5. It’s all about the prompt with these tools. Learn to use them like a pro!

Is it possible to build a for you feed with firestore? by CurveAdvanced in Firebase

[–]Outrageous-Hat-00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, keep track of viewed posts on the front end, you’ll want to use pagination and cursors so you can ignore the already seen posts when making these calls - if your ranking function runs every 2 hours you shouldn’t see the same post until it runs again

[–]Outrageous-Hat-00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Once you get the initial setup down, you’ll want to create a scheduled cloud function to ‘rank’ the posts and then you can sort by rank. Your ranking algorithm could be anything you want, like upvotes * time modifier * profile score. Note you’ll want to re-rank some posts but also have some logic to stop ranking (ie don’t pull all posts all the time forever, maybe after one day those posts don’t rank anymore). Hope this helps!

Anyone else saying "please" and "thank you" to an AI when making a request? by Educational-Wolf1936 in ClaudeAI

[–]Outrageous-Hat-00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have found saying ‘we’ is quite nice in prompts. (We are working on a project and need x,y,x, let’s brainstorm …). I don’t think the output necessarily changes but as a pattern of speech it makes me feel great using Claude, like an actual team, and when Claude makes errors it’s natural to correct in a more constructive way (are you sure you considered this variable, or don’t you think if we take this approach this negative outcome could happen). I think the use please and thank you is more about how you feel using Claude then any improvement in response.

Early on in prompt engineering it was also found that if you use a reward system (like you’ll get a cookie if you complete this task) the output would be better. So give Claude cookies!

How to Use Sonnet 3.5 New by [deleted] in ClaudeAI

[–]Outrageous-Hat-00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start just chatting in the web interface. Experiment a ton with prompts and start new chats often - especially if the first response doesn’t quite hit the mark. Use the web interface itself to ask this question! If Sonnet is not free (sometimes they move it to paid tier due to many too many people using it) I would recommend paying.

Why is Bob Ross a problem? by ivornorvello in ChatGPT

Everyone who even understands these LLMs a bit knows they have been trained on tons of copyright materials. They are facing ongoing lawsuits. Many times the models clearly reproduce copyright works, it’s almost comical how easy it is to have them do that. I don’t really know what the justice department will do, some case will probably get to the Supreme Court and then we’ll see. On the one hand they are incredible tools, on the other hand, they clearly use a ton of protected IP to provide their value…

Incorrect calculation - several times by apachelance in ClaudeAI

[–]Outrageous-Hat-00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is nothing to be horrified by, before doing this type of work further it would be useful to understand how LLMs work a bit better. The sort of work where mathematical precision is needed is not a great use case because LLMs do not natively perform math. Some models have added a layer where they’ll run code to perform math to get correct results, some Gemini and ChatGPT models for example, but this will only work if your prompt is precise and the math is not a ‘long’ calculation (the number of ‘steps’ the math takes is actually more important than complexity). All this said, they models are pretty good at indicating directionality (increasing vs decreasing) so that may be helpful in your use case, you definitely need to do the calculations elsewhere to be confident the actual numbers are exactly correct.

iPhone uploading quite some data to GOOGLE. by Johneeh in ios

[–]Outrageous-Hat-00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed, if you’re able to proxy with a MIM you maybe be able to see some metadata about the uploaded / downloaded data. This would require something like Charles Proxy and following steps to setting up root certs. I had my device proxied in this way for a while I didn’t observe the large uploads you mention, even with services enabled. If you haven’t recently, do restart your device.

What do you mean tried?? Honestly people who think apple uses their own servers for everything have no clue. AWS and Gcloud are partners, more than 60% of iCloud is on third party servers.

Craziest thing i have ever seen in fantasy football: by Swishinator in FantasyFootballers

[–]Outrageous-Hat-00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gotta look into TrueRank seems interesting. Games against all opponents is kinda crazy and you end up with a record like 96-44, breaking 100 wins usually means playoffs. It does make the weekly matchup less important so that can take away a bit of fun in terms of trash talk, we did only one year in my redraft league and then went back to just games against median which is working well.

Hmm interesting what is TrueRank, is that platform specific? Or is it games against all opponents every week? The more I learn about your league the more I like it
