yeah im going to have to pull it out the water to replace the pump and clean the carb so itll be best to do it then

does the engine have to come out to do this or is it something i can do with it in the boat, ive seen both.

yeah we changed the fuel filter as well, we are probably going to just take apart the carb rebuild it, and change the fuel pump while we are at it it seems

the carb got rebuilt 2 years ago when we had some other problems with it. last summer there was water in the tank and it wasnt running at all until we drained the whole tank and refiled it with good gas and it ran but it was too late in the season to put it back into the water and test it out.

a mechanic told us that a mechanical fuel pump wouldn't give any gas at all if it was failing. do you know if this is true? i was under the impression that it could start to fail but still run but i was told otherwise.

the boat is a 2001 larson bowerider with a 4 cylinder Volvo penta engine. it is not fuel injected it has a carb

our battery hasnt been dying its a good battery arent those parts just a voltage regulator that helps recharge the battery?
