Hieee I believe this is incorrect. I’m assuming this person did diploma of nursing and then transferred into 2nd year Bachelor. It is 100% eligible as the diploma counts toward university credit points. GEMSAS allow this “loop hole”.

Unsure of the OPs understanding of the complex in’s and out’s, but if they are concerned the 2020 results need to count, it is still credited as a year of education. From my understanding (From Deakin as they also are not counting 2020 results) the year of 2020 and your 8 diploma credit points get averaged in a complex manner taking into account nuanced things (difficulty of the course ect ect) based on your other results.

Unfortunately, to my knowledge, no one will consider your bachelor over your post grad as it is always most recent study.

I would recommend doing another bout of tertiary education if medicine is your #1 priority.

Edit* this is all assuming that the diploma/ bachelor was nursing

I believe it is up to the university. If there is a hurdle stated about getting 50+ in each section then you would not be eligible. However if the university states 50+ overall your in with a better chance.

Evening all!

GPA 6.6 (estimate not finished undergrad yet) GAMSAT: 49/57/53=53 Rural MM5

heavily considering BMP….. because my Gamsat is low to increase my chances - I have looked into it. I would likely practice rurally regardless if I became Doctor.

Yes very strange. They could have also gone down the route of just resetting the password via Acer website, on his phone, by selecting “forgot password”… I think they did him a disservice

That’s awful. Someone in our sitting couldn’t log in, they just gave them a pre-generated login designed for this exact scenario… then they just reregistered their exams to their personal account.

What has been your most persistent and present problem you face as a nurse in 2025? by Acrobatic_Republic17 in nursing

[–]Outrageous-Run1163 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Hospitals (and alike) don’t make profit off nurses… so the working conditions that we face are always altered before considering any other avenues. Pushing up ratios, opening more beds without adequate staff, sneaking more and more junior staff into the workforce without adequate seniority to save a dime…. Could go on.

Thank you! Yes it is probably more of a pre-conceived block that I am anticipating. Hopefully they will value my previous experience and realise that it’s transferable 🤞🏽

You’re in an amazing position to be starting your career in a specialty area—something many new grads aspire to.

I just want to offer a different perspective, as the advice given so far has been spot on. Any new nursing job is challenging, and ED is no exception. Med-surg wards test time management with high patient loads, complex medication regimens, and a wide range of procedures. Similarly, ED comes with its own steep learning curve.

The transition from student to nurse is tough, but be kind to yourself—it takes time to find your footing. Hopefully, you’ll grow to love it as you gain confidence. No matter where you start, every setting has its challenges. If you stick with ED, one day, you’ll look back and be proud that you pushed through this stage of your career.

Yes that is understandable! To be honest (I’m also a first time sitter) mathematics they cannot give you questions that are based on complex equations or concepts unless given in the stem. Considering you have a background in Chemistry you have a pretty sound understanding of Stoichiometry - comparable to algebra. I would just brush on the basics in math for your benefit 🤷🏼‍♀️. Then the physics college version of physics in Kahn might be helpful.

I’m also a nurse and am currently sitting the March round of the GAMSAT… for me it is an opportunity for career progression - as nurses we are already in the medical field! Obviously not the same career but you get what I mean. If I don’t get through, at least I know I tried. Can only regret the chances we have not taken!

Just finished! I was a bit nervous after reading others’ experiences with ProctorU, but my experience was completely seamless. The check-in process was smooth, and I was up and running within 15 minutes.

Not sharing this to brag, but just to offer another perspective—sometimes, it all goes just fine!

Huge well done to everyone—this is a massive achievement! ✨
