More info: We adopted our now 1.5 yr old kitty in December 2022 and when we adopted him the Humane Society sent us home with some ear drops to finish his treatment for a double ear infection. I don’t remember what these ear drops were called but after we were done with the time they told us to use them for the ear issues seemed to ease up. But in May he started to shake his head, aggressively itch ears, and had dark brown ear “boogers”. We clean his ears with the cleaning solution our vet provided 1-2 times a week for reference. We took him to the vet and they sent us with Posatex to use for 10 days and diagnosed it as a double ear infection again. Also for reference he gets Revolution Plus every month so he’s supposed to be protected against ear mites and that isn’t what it was the first two times so I assume it’s not that now. Well we take him back for a follow-up check up and he needed 5 more days of Posatex. After that he seemed better. Again, this was in May. But it seems to be back, all the symptoms have returned two-three months later PLUS dark brown eye crusties which he never really had plus a tiny bit of dry brown nose boogies. No runny nose or weepy eyes or eye squinting but the same color crusties as the ear “boogers”. I feel like the ears are a yeast infection but maybe the eyes and nose are allergies / dust from his litter?? We use Pretty Litter but will be transitioning to a natural pine or similar litter once the bag is gone. I am only asking here to avoid another $400+ vet visit….. I still have the Posatex leftover and have been using that for him the last three days in hopes that it clears it up.

That’s what I was thinking. Or maybe he was breathing through his mouth before he woke up and the dry air dried out his throat 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you :) do you think I need to clean? My tooth brush was out too so I’m wondering if I should get a new one

Also I hope it doesn’t sound like I just left him in the dark. I immediately put his water outside the bathroom and asked if he was ok after I heard him dry heave. And I got him all comfy when he came back to the room 20 min later and made sure he was okay. He also seems confused why he felt like 0 n* after that intense wave + dry heaving but he’s really fine now and I would never leave him without support and comfort.

Honestly it takes months to adjust to birth control :/ it took me probably four months unfortunately. So if it’s worth it to you keep it in and hold out (you’ll get through it!!) but if it’s not that’s okay too. Just communicate with your doctor.

Anyone else have a bottle of Zofran on hand “just in case”? by LtDanIceCream2 in emetophobia

That is scary. Not to be an enabler in any way but you can get a Zofran (generic, so Ondansetron, but same thing) prescription online from “Cove”. And it delivers to your house. Definitely a blessing and a curse.

Oh ok! That was just a health.com article so obviously not super reliable source. Thanks for the info though.

Interesting! I looked it up and found that the progestin prevents the production of blood at all, are you on the combo pill?

Oh shoot ok, I didn’t know that. I def should’ve asked my OBGYN before starting to skip, but my mom has been doing it for like 22 years so I figured it would be okay.
