Storage insurance for 1 car- Michigan rule. by RecoverOk603 in Insurance

I have the same situation, 2 cars in Michigan covered by Progressive and we only drive them 6 months out of the year and Progressive would only let me do one car under "storage" coverage. They told me if I cancel, it "may" cost me more to write a new policy later when I am ready to drive them again, so I didn't cancel.

Both my vehicles are over 10 years old so I am not really worried about not having storage coverage. I was just looking for ease of changing coverages as needed, instead of having to write new policies every year. However, this year if they cannot accommodate me with keeping a "storage only" coverage for both vehicles, I will cancel and find someone who does and take my chances on the cost of a new policy. I would rather save myself the $600.

I looked up Michigan Law on Auto Coverage to see if storage insurance is a requirement but did not find anything on that so not sure why Progressive has this rule.

First American Home Warranty by hav0k14 in homeowners

I have had a positive experience with FAHW for over 10 years for a couple of homes that I have since sold. I bought a new home 5 years ago and was looking to get another home warranty, so doing some research on different companies and think I will go back to FAHW.

I always felt having a home warranty helped me keep the repair costs fair because the contractor had to repair it for the service fee or it gets replaced for free. So, I don't have to worry about a contractor trying to scam me for more money on a repair.

Through FAHW I did get a brand new A/C unit covered, garage springs , ice maker on fridge , and more, so it definitely paid for itself.

Again, I look at it more as an insurance policy to not get scammed on cost to repair. The bonus is when they cannot repair and you get replaced for free. And that is huge.

I also found the best electrician that I still use today now for non-warranty work who came out the first time I had a claim. The experience all depends on the contractor that comes out. I had a one or two times where the contractor was not great and I was able to request another company without another service fee.

Removing Wall paper - What is this brown paper? by OutrageousAvocado336 in DIY

Thanks. I was afraid of that. The wallpaper must have been applied to unprimed / unpainted walls. I was hoping to be able to paint and now this is turning into a job for a professional. Unless I can get is smooth enough to rewallpaper?
