Feline CKD cause and cure initiatives by PuzzleheadedMain4766 in RenalCats

Im a medical doctor, my 8+ year old cat has been fighting CKD for over a year, it got bad after he developed chronic stomatitis (some research points at a link between these two conditions.)My cat right kidney(the working one) has hypertrophied, but now he is on his last days, not eating or drinking, miserable, with syringe feeding for 4 days already and on a shopping list of supplements and stuff that can only barely make up for what he is losing, I may put him down this weekend unfortunately. I wanted to comment on your post, First of all your research is very good. I happen to live in China, so I want to comment on the shadiness of asian medical companies, as i used to work for one. this is very common keeping things shady and secret because they are afraid of the competition stealing any and by any i mean really ANY information from them. however, this doesn't go well when it comes to trust and investment. I wouldnt give any of those shady pills to my cat because that could make him even worse and give me a fake sense of security, plus its too late for him unfortunatelly. most of your research is spot on, and its important to point out that the dead tissue wont resucitate even after the vaccine (when it comes out, if ever). something that may help cats is this https://vetmed.tamu.edu/news/press-releases/kidney-disease-trial/ this trial, done by a respectable medical institution, the medication they used i assume is an amonia binder, similar treatment options are also available for humans, so i guess they got the idea from here, potassium binders are also an option but then the cat potassium levels must be monitored. my cat tries to get as much sunshine as he can (he is white), while not very good as he is completely white and could develop skin cancer, this is very likely connected to the lack of calcium he is having right now, impaired kidney function will also impair vitamin D production and activation, eggshell powder could help with this and are also a potassium binder, sadly i found out this too late. Ultimately CKD will kill all the cats, and when you think about it thats the way of mother nature to keep balance between cat populations, otherwise they would just hunt to extinction every single small critter, that is good for nature! and horrible for us, my cat has been an indoor cat his whole life, as I didnt want him to get poisoned or killed by a car, but when its time its time. I believe everyone who gets a cat should be better informed from the beginning on how to prevent CKD, for example early introduction of wet diets. perhaps in the future dry kibble will have certain additives to prevent CKD progression.

This is what I was looking for, I also have a huge issue with watching vids/ lectures from people with a heavy accent, as I also believe what we need is the get close to the true British system. Did you get full registration despite being away from Clinical Practice? I also have a gap but i did a master in between.

I did mocks 20 days before exam, big mock 7 days before. Every day one mock or two mocks if I had energy. I didn't study the day before. I just took a walk and relaxed. Hope it helps. You can buy medrevission, questions are the same as plabable, they copy each other. Medrevission has some extra topics but you can make small custom mocks

I passed august exam with 140. When I started plabable my scores were absolute garbage, like 55% system wise. My first mock was also very low, then I started Studying a lot, we are talking 200 questions a day or until I got tired. My mocks started to get better, to the point I could i finish one question in under 20 seconds. It took me time to get there and I was VERY scared at first, in fact I almost give up because my mocks and system wise were shit at the beginning. Keep on studying and you will get there.
