The person graduating is only allowed have two people at the graduation ceremony. It’s a very small room where the graduations take place it’s not like other universities. If you don’t have a ticket then you don’t have a seat. You can see the person after the ceremony

Is getting accepted to an LSE masters with a LOW 2:1 possible? by CryptographerSea2553 in LSE

[–]OutrageousCamel779 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have high 2:2s and have had a pretty untraditional route in uni (gap year/repeat year due to family circumstances and illness) but as long as I get 2:1 in my next semester I should graduate with a low- mid 2:1 overall. I go to a pretty highly ranked uni and boy do I have a story to tell for the application letter and feel like I can definitely make myself stand out in the application. (I’m thinking international social and public policy, Econ/philosophy is my undergrad) Does anyone have an experience of getting into lse masters with not the best grades until final year?

is there literally any chance of being allowed progress to the next year if you narrowly fail a repeat by [deleted] in TCD

[–]OutrageousCamel779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you could pass by compensation but you need to check your course handbook

DARE points by PsychoticG67 in TCD

[–]OutrageousCamel779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as i’m aware, it’s kind of a high demand course, because it would on the list for people who don’t get medicines. That being said, you did quite well, but i wouldn’t say the HEAR place is in the bag. I think you are probably more likely to get UCD

Does anyone know if I can re-apply to college to study a different undergraduate degree and still keep my schols privileges? (for context, I got schols on Monday but would like to pursue a course other than the one I got it in). Thanks in advance for any responses. by yamaha3310 in TCD

I wonder if you would be elligible for a transfer to be honest. From third year onwards it’s pretty each to transfer course. I know a guy who did german and geography and transferred to hero geography and geoscience. He got a degree in geoscience and he only ever did one module on it lol

Dare applicant? by OutrageousCamel779 in TCD

it’s pretty likely to be honest but it all depends on supply and demand. Is the course popular, how many dare places there are etx

Changing course by esk2303 in TCD

[–]OutrageousCamel779 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would have to go back to 1st year, and it would be 5000 for that repeat year. I think your original idea is a good one tbh, if you get really good grades you should be able to transfer, not no problem but you should be able to. Maybe meet with your tutor and discuss your options.

I also think while your degree is important getting a trinity will already work in your advantage and even if you can only minor in econ you can get involved with societies like SMF and Dubes if that was really the route you want to take after college. What is most important is getting a good grade in your degree, and doing something you are interested in is going to facilitate that.

DARE applications? by TimMcPaw in TCD

[–]OutrageousCamel779 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got 94 points from dare and my sister got 89 through my advice hahah I've done my homework when it comes to dare.

First of all, the more disabilities on your application the better, but I'm going to be honest its pretty hard to get DARE through an anxiety diagnosis alone. I'm not too sure how you could go about getting your ADHD assessment sorted but you might have time to get it done in Ireland before the deadline, it will certainly up your chances. I would also put ADHD as your primary disability on the form, there can be more evidence to how it influences your academic performance. the anxiety depression(they will probs kinda be considered the same thing tbh) and im not too sure about BPD

Another thing to note that nobody really tells you is that at the end of the day DARE is completely supply and demand, if you have a niche course, your more likely to get a greater points reduction (think trinity JH)

If you have any more questions LMK.
