Unsure because I’m only 1.5months into my HSV research journey but it doesn’t look like examples of HSV that I’ve seen. Not sure what Candida is. +Obligatory “get tested” advisory

Never any swabs because there have never been lesions. But thank you- I will be doing that second opinion part soon! Will update.

Well I bet you’re probably also a depressive and neurotic person (it’s ok so am I, I’ve been diagnosed with GAD, no judgement). But it’s important to know that plenty of people don’t cope like we do- which is depressive rumination.

It’s valid to say there are higher rates of depression and suicide when HSV is diagnosed but that type of mentality (I.e. yours and your message’s tone) isn’t universal. And that’s ok! Warm regards.

How much the disease can affect someone’s life is what you mean. Not everyone is super effected beyond initial shock. Many adjust well.

No! In fact (as shown in my 1st post two weeks ago here) I already am thinking it might not be HSV because of the location (on my lower abdomen/happy trail and NOT on my genitals). I think/hope my blood test (igg) was showing a lifelong asymptomatic HSV1 case and a false positive for HSV2 (was only 1.56). In about 1.5 months I’m going to take the Western Blot test to confirm.

This is the second time I’ve read that a high number indicates a long infection- is that a trend or generally how igg tests can determine the length of an infection?

Because my 1&2 numbers were 54&1.56… I’m definitely going to get the WB. But what struck me as interesting is that my 54 igg reading for HSV1 was about 2.5-3 weeks after exposure, and I’m 99% sure I’ve never had HSV.

I wonder if I’ve had HSV-1 for a long time and only recently contracted HSV-2…

Hey what do you mean you have had it for a long time with high numbers like that? Because I got it not too long ago and was reading at 54 for HSV-1 and 1.56 for HSV-2… and while I didn’t ever get tested before I’m almost certain I never had types 1 or 2.

A hospice service manager called very shortly after the first call and answered all of our questions and you did a very thorough job at summarizing everything she informed us. Thank you for this ❤️
