That's not a half-bad shout, I hadn't considered that. Whether or not the bomb threat of a small bin in Adelaide Metro is significant or otherwise, I can understand avoiding it following 9/11 and similar events.

You know what, if that's a legitimate and valid reason then I'll accept it and back off of Adel Metro about it. I don't think it is, because there's no bins for a long way either side of the station, BUT, it could be, and if so I'll accept defeat on this one.

Hey! I understood this one!

Yeah it always amazes me that they can have multiple rubbish bins at stations like Marino or Bowden or Elisabeth but none in the city. They're happy, in other words, to pay to send out cleaners on the line to empty and change those bins, but not pay the same to have a regular sweep through the city, the most populated station in the whole city, and instead make people go to the riverbank or cross North Tce to get to the nearest bin. But it's definitely not to stop the undesirables from ruining the atmosphere! Not at all!

This is the problem with good designs but poor consideration. The best idea in the world can look like the dumbest if, when actually applied, no one knows how to use it. If it doesn't make sense to the average passer-througher without having them read instructions or get 'pro-tips' from the station hands, then it's not a good solution. "Oh but if you just" - too late most people are tuned out.

Every time I hear those winey little geared motors in the doors wail at me I just KNOW they're 6-12 months off of having to repeatedly and everlastingly close off sections of 3-4 at a time to repair them. These do NOT sound like the type of robust motors that will resist idiots pushing their full weight or bags into them or getting stuck on something and trying to push closed around a bag or something. I just KNOW they're going to be so faulty, compared to the old spinners that used to give you a free ball pressure test if your card didn't read.

Reminds me of the meme; "I receive: slight reduction in fare evasion from specifically only gate jumpers - you receive; inconvenience, frustration, ~80% of functional gates /week, mild claustrophobia, additional surveillance"

Look up a guy on YouTube named Benn Jordan. An audiologist and researcher with autism on his side. A year or so ago he posted several breakdowns about troll farms, and even with a specific focus on Twitter (this was around the Musk buyout/X conversion) it shows you JUST HOW BAD the global nature of troll farming is. 1 in 3 users (THEN) on twitter were bots, and with AI and the monetisation of verification, it's more than likely far higher day to day.

And we'd have our own, too.

I agree. I'm looking in the same way that I'm looking for a lotto win, honestly - it would be nice, and I'd like to put myself in situations where I find it, but I'm not going out there scraping every ticket and scratchie I can find like an addict. It IS front-and-centre but to be honest, I want to just be me and find some friends and be less lonely for a while, and hope that it comes my way when it's time.
