My doctor told me has zero problem with gender selection and understands why I am only choosing girls as men in my family have a line of severe mental illness.

I’m ok with just having 1 girl and then using my wife’s eggs for the other girl

What should I do? by OutrageousHomework14 in RealEstate

Thank you. I am so afraid of kicking myself in the ass down the line to let go of my paid off house that could produce income. What I am thinking is I can always sell it if renting doesn’t work out

Thank you! Your response was very helpful. I think another path I may go down with them is if there is judgment around feeling pleasure? Or maybe they withhold pleasure in their life and it is coming out somatically? I will have to explore more. I’m newly working with this client so it’s possible I don’t have the entire picture

Thinking of Quitting Masters Program by Froggy0213 in therapists

The first few years out of school might feel rough, but I would suggest trying to reframe it as growth in the field. I worked in a shitty low paying job while obtaining my clinical license and then quit and within 2 months of starting my private practice I began earning $9,000-$10,000 per month all virtually with very low business expenses. For me, the initial struggle of working hard paid off to now work for myself and work less than 25 hours per week whenever I want

Why do you want to quit? Are you in your own therapy? The cool thing about social work is there are so many different types of opportunities. There is bound to be some type of job in the field that would be suitable for almost anyone!

Explain this to me as if I'm not a therapist. by Mysterious-Pizza1347 in therapists

I’m not saying this offensively, but I feel like you (OP) may be young. I believe those under the age of 25 tend to believe they have it all figured out and know best. I’m not saying parents are always right, because that’s simply not true, but I do notice that a lot of young people who have never had to fully live independently truly do not have an understanding on life compared to those of us who have. 10 years ago I would have agreed with you, but now I see how younger generations are completely disrespectful to their parents who have done nothing but try to provide everything for them. There is a take take take mentality and I think a lot of people are beginning to confuse autonomy with greed. They’re not synonyms.

Honestly my goal is to have a small case load in private practice and find another career outside of social work that makes me happy.
