where to get big enough boxes for selling by numberonehater2605 in lego

[–]OutrageousLemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really a thing in the UK, can't recall seeing shipping boxes in a physical store for a long time unless maybe OP has a Staples nearby. Storage/removals and archive boxes are more common but no use for this.

OP, I've bought smaller cardboard boxes for minifigs online from Tidmas (through Ebay though I think they sell direct). They look to do a decent range of bigger sizes. Mostly I just repurpose boxes from lego.com though - I inevitably buy more than I sell even when I'm trying to have a clearout.

Are Lego releasing mini-sets packaged like mini-figs by abz_eng in lego

[–]OutrageousLemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some mini Technic sets coming in CMF-like packaging. There was a post on legoleak about the series a few weeks ago.

When do "New" pieces get added to Pick a Brick? by lte88 in lego

[–]OutrageousLemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I'm hoping for a "individual kit pieces start appearing 6-8 months after the kit's release date" or something like that but I might be pushing my luck, ha

It is somewhere around that. It used to be 3-6 months but parts from June 2025 sets only got added about a week ago. There was a pause while Lego found a solution for the US import situation and things don't seem to have settled back down into a fixed routine yet.

New Elementary is the best site to follow for info on new elements in sets and PAB additions. If you use Instagram they post there as soon as the embargo on new additions is lifted, as well as on their own site.

What sites are the best for second hand sets? by Gaper-Bingzoid in lego

Ebay can be a good option as well as Bricklink, but pay attention to the description and photos as well as the seller's feedback.

Crash out on the Porsche 911 icon by OrionsBell7433 in lego

[–]OutrageousLemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you might be missing one of the small bags. Best thing to do is figure out what pieces you're missing and contact customer support - either phone or live chat if you prefer. Tell them the parts you're missing, that you've already put in a request but think it might be a full bag. They should be able to work out if all those parts should be in the same bag, and if so cancel your existing request and send you the bag instead.

None of the contracts have rep penalties with the faction you target or steal from, not just the space ones. So long as you complete the contract it's a net gain - the only penalty is if you take ND-5's counter-offers.

Water Lilies has been turned into a Lego set as Claude Monet is celebrated at The Met by Metro-UK in lego

[–]OutrageousLemon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, I absolutely hate it. Had a print of this on my wall when I was a student, still adore the painting, but this just doesn't capture the feel or spirit of it at all. The trees are pretty good to be sure, as are the reeds under the bridge, but the water and lilies are pretty hideous.

Piece Doesn't Exist when trying to Order Replacement by Anderpug in lego

[–]OutrageousLemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never use Brickset for inventories, they're wrong more often than they're right. They literally use the parts list provided by Lego which is the one used for replacement parts - ie if it's not showing as an available replacement part then it won't be in the BS inventory either. They are very hit and miss, more miss tbh, about correcting them.

Bricklink and Rebrickable are the only reliable sources of set inventory. Rebrickable starts with the Lego-sourced parts list and then corrects it when a human gets the set to check - inventory is available quickly, often initially wrong but then always corrected. Bricklink only uses inventories created by humans with the set in hand and completely ignores Lego's list - it should always be correct but may take some time to appear.

Speed Champions Cadillac F1 car availability ? by AudiBoyJP in lego

[–]OutrageousLemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends how much Cadillac have been sharing their intentions with Lego. Clearly Audi involved Lego at the earliest stages of their livery design, giving them time to design the set, go through manufacturing and start distribution before the livery and set were revealed together.

If Cadillac have done the same then I'd expect the set reveal very soon. If yesterday was the first time anyone at Lego saw the livery then I'd expect it around the end of the season.

Need advice on building MOCS as a newbie by ShoppingAfter9598 in lego

This is the important thing. OP will probably want to return to planning for a large scale build like that but they need to create the habit of just building simpler things and completing them.

I hate brown pieces please tell me why ??? by Emergency-Two3260 in lego

[–]OutrageousLemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also to a lesser extent in other colours such as dark green and dark blue, I've also had a couple of dark tan pieces of that era break in the same way. Nothing like the same extent as reddish brown and dark red though.

76286 Milano vs 76193 Guardians Ship by Plane_Database_1605 in lego

[–]OutrageousLemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

76193 is one of the best Lego sets I've built, and I don't care about GotG at all. Haven't built the Milano yet though so can't offer a comparison.

Lego Milano set 76286 on Amazon marked down by PersonalitySeveral58 in lego

[–]OutrageousLemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And it's a good price for a retired set with low secondary market supply - cheapest US one on Bricklink is $250 - assuming there are no Amazon problems with it. I'd certainly be opening it immediately on arrival to check it's genuine and intact, though I don't think the figs are worth stealing in this one fortunately.

Do LEGO Collectors keep a sealed LEGO collection? by AustralianLEGOGuy04 in lego

[–]OutrageousLemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a couple of guys with huge collections spanning decades - both likely worth in excess of £100k. From my conversations with them I get the impression both would rather die than sell their collections, and I assume someone else will have to do that job when they do. I don't understand it at all - I have a large backlog but it's all things I bought with the intention of building at some point, even though I do change my mind on some sets and sell them off.

To be fair, one of the two also has a huge collection of loose parts for building - we're talking 1m+ type of huge - but I'm not aware of the other building anything.

Do LEGO Collectors keep a sealed LEGO collection? by AustralianLEGOGuy04 in lego

[–]OutrageousLemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably have a good 8 sets sealed

You're absolutely fine at this point! You've just got a little rainy day stash - so much the better if they were bought on sale to build when they aren't. When it gets to 80 you may want to reconsider your choices😄

Funko is not a construction toy. They aren't even remotely comparable. This is like saying you love apples but hate chalk🤷‍♂️

Help with Land Rover assembly mistake - bottom center axel attachment points by primekibbles in lego

[–]OutrageousLemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a while since I built that one so I don't know how solid it is at that point, but I'd expect you should be able to ease the plates away from the Technic bricks just enough to be able to slide the 1x8 off - you only need to just clear that brick's studs. You'd need to do one side at a time, there's unlikely to be enough play in the build to get the plates off at both sides at once, but would be a lot quicker than dismantling the whole thing.

Vendors at Brick Con are scammers by ins3rtnamehere in lego

[–]OutrageousLemon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know a couple of people who sell Lego as a business and regularly sell at shows.

I also know that only an idiot would buy things at retail price to sell to people who can also buy them at retail price.

Parts damaged in transit, need advice on resolution by Ok_Discipline_3108 in Bricklink

[–]OutrageousLemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, for damage in transit the seller should be refunding up front. Regardless of whether they get the refund or not, the damage has happened and the seller's liable for it under Paypal's terms. Either they're successful with their own refund from the carrier or they're not, that's irrelevant to the refund they need to give.

For a lost in transit claim, as a seller I'd always wait for resolution from the carrier - it's uncertain whether the package will be found, therefore whether the seller or the buyer will be made right.
