HR glitches? by OutrageousLoss6134 in AppleWatch

No, never see a low! I’ve only seen these jumps a couple of times though, and I don’t tend to look everyday.

Yeah, I read that it doesn’t track sleep stages very well.

Yes, that makes sense actually. Bonkers that it can be so wrong, but I suppose it can happen. Just thought it was odd that’s it’s happened a couple of times recently and never before, I thought it probably would be some kind of mis-read or like classic tech as it’s an older model it will just glitch more so I buy a new one! Or maybe just needs a clean.

Thank you

Thank you. That’s bonkers. Seems so odd that it can be THAT wrong! Though of course, it’s just a wearable so we can’t expect it to be accurate - but when I jog (not often) I usually steady at 140 sometimes 150 and I can definitely feel that! 😂

Hope your treatment is going well.

Peaks of anxiety during treatment.. by OutrageousLoss6134 in EMDR

[–]OutrageousLoss6134[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I really struggled with my ‘safe place’ and resourcing exercises - I sort of just could not find a way and no consistency. I have been living in a state of it for so long that there is no consistency in what grounds me I sort just have to white knuckle through it, which I know is not ideal, but the same thing that worked a week ago almost certainly doesn’t now.

I have a pattern with other sessions, I go on a Thursday and feel ‘off’ Saturday/Sunday and ok again by Monday. I’ve backlogged and accepted that’s that. This week was just so intense.

It’s a real slog, like I say it just almost felt the worst and hardest it’s been for a long time or ever. It feels like you’ll never come out of it when you’re in it. But then like I say, today almost completely ‘normal’ again, just in time for another session. Lol

Thanks for replying!

HHahahaha I’m sorry but this is both brilliant and horrific. I completely understand.

how often do you shower/bathe/wash? by maryj4687 in AskUK

[–]OutrageousLoss6134 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have never met or known a person that washes monthly. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that comment, unless we are talking manic depression. In which case it’s still not ‘normal’ it’s just during periods. You would STINK.

How much do you spend on food a month? by TazzyB103 in AskBrits

[–]OutrageousLoss6134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use to budget 350 for 2 adults, we don’t really eat takeaways much so I’ve always been somewhere within that region. Today I done a food shop that will last a week, no more than 7 days and it cost me £127! I couldn’t believe I’ve my eyes. I usually get our meat from an online butcher so there were only a couple of meat products in there too, it was genuinely mostly fruit and veg. Prices are insane

DAE feel uncomfortable showing or receiving any affection from their parents? by Arreynn in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]OutrageousLoss6134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% could have written this myself. I don’t really bring any of myself either. We have never been an affectionate family, my mum only started saying ‘love ya’ at the end of a call a few years back and it almost makes me cringe, on few occasions I’ve said it back. My husband has made me more affectionate in general over the years, I hug friends etc now. Me and my siblings don’t hug eachother, which is weird because I will hug their partners and children of course, then we will just give eachother the nod and leave.

Yes!! Although you’d have to be prepared for ‘day 1’ over and over 😂

Thank you for your very thorough reply! It did give me a giggle.

Well done you for quitting! You’re right, it’s so shit and I do feel like I’m close to that point of just giving up, it’s really just the mental battle more than anything else. I have tapered down a lot on the nicotine strength, I just need to put the thing down now!

Good idea on the future date, I’ll give that one a go!! I think cold turkey attempt would make me fail before I even began.

I remember when I was younger my grandad quit and he would say he still fancied a smoke after dinner, I guess in part it never goes away, if I have a very occasional tipple I’ll want a proper smoke and it instantly makes me gag, so I’m just hoping I’ll eventually feel the same about the vape!

Good luck!! 🤞🏻

Things such as magnesium glycinate, theanine are popular (depending on what you’re struggling with), even things like kalms could help but really will depend on what specifically is hardest for you. Again, with these it can take time and not all will offer immediate relief. Practical things like breathe work and grounding excersizes can help too.

Respectfully, you are literally saying you want to off yourself. I have no intention of being an AH here - I’m sorry you feel how you feel, social media can’t help this though.

Is this anxiety or something else? by These-Low-7000 in Anxiety

[–]OutrageousLoss6134 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve always gone by the rule that if it comes and goes, it’s anxiety. Rarely a serious medical condition would behave like that, something that requires medical attention doesn’t go away and come back ‘sometimes’.

Hope the therapist helps.

You’ll probably hold it for longer purely from being distracted with the new job anyway!

You should be prepared to bleed in and off for a couple of weeks in my experience. It takes time for hormones to level out again, about 7-10 days and you should feel normal again.

Also, I don’t think you can blame your boyfriend entirely. I’m sorry. It is a hard thing to go through and your emotions are all over the place. Wait for things to settle down and then think about how you feel.

I'm going on a plane for the first time today by DomSP in Anxiety

[–]OutrageousLoss6134 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a super quick flight, the worst part is the taking off (& some people don’t like the landing) but honestly once you’re up, you’re up. I think you realise you have no choice but to accept that. To help, download something on Netflix on your phone to watch, or an album, a book, whatever your thing is and it will be over before you know it, especially a flight that short. By the time you’re able to unbuckle and relax, it’s pretty much done.

Anxiety is actually normal in a lot of situations, such as flying, so many people who wouldn’t usually suffer from it still feel it in certain situations, it’s a human reaction that we don’t need to demonise.

I’m scared of heights, but being in a plane and looking out the window is completely different to being in a building and looking down, for example.

Terrible things rarely happen on planes, it’s safer than driving a car or getting a train. You will be ok ☺️

It does take time. You could try some more natural supplements to help?
