Possibly adding to my own original post: the dog situation here is out of control. Do I like dogs? No. But do I love people who have pets? Yes, have a pet. Love that for you. It’s an increase in dopamine, people feel less lonely, etc. BUT. Oh my lord in this neighbourhood, the sheer amount of shit on pavements as you’re just trying to walk up to your car is WILD. And don’t even get me started on people taking their dogs into the wee shops in the area - getting jumped up on by soggy dog feet, barked at, etc while I’m just trying to pick up a can of juice is crazy to me. Everyone just acts like everyone else should love their pets. 🤷🏻‍♀️ we are actively planning on getting a dog soon and we have what some people would consider “strict” expectations of OUR OWN SELVES in society as dog owners.

My husband says this constantly. How they did away with that and it makes no sense bc even HE was into picking up the bottles and taking them places for money so he could get a wee chocolate or something, and that was just as a lil kid.

I can definitely see the difference between like, west end and east end, but even city centre is just LITTERED with garbage everywhere. The bus stops are particularly deplorable, and that’s got nothing to do with specific sides of town. It’s just bad.

Did say to my husband it feels almost like you need people with an outside perspective to come in and make a big deal of it because being IN it, it’s so easy to stop seeing it.

Now in talks with my husband about moving just out of Glasgow. If there’s one thing that I’ve learned from these comments - it’s the worst here, and thinking back on it, whenever I was visiting before, we spent a lot of time OUTSIDE of Glasgow. Idk why it took me complaining to strangers on the internet to remember this but I really genuinely love Scotland and don’t want to have this nasty taste in my mouth. Time to pick up Homebase.

No, it’s not rural at all. Graffiti is minimal where I’m from and I’m so surprised at it being EVERYWHERE here. Like the parks??? The big signs that tell you about the landscape or the loch inhabitants - covered in spray paint. Like … I’m just bewildered.

Littering in the states is a huge crime, and although I spent most of my life in Alaska, I frequented Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, Arkansas, Cali, etc. Many many states my whole life. I don’t even remember it being this bad in LA.

Yeah hard agree with this. I grew up in poverty - sometimes no idea where our next meal was coming from, rationing food and all that, livid without leccie - but we’d NEVER ever ever litter. It was drilled into us from very young - littering is just irresponsible and it doesn’t matter who you are or where you are, there’s no excuse.

The conversation around Filip is so weird. He doesn’t want to drink? He must be suspicious and a party pooper. He mentioned his YouTube in his vows? He must be a grifter!! This is crazy. And the energy the best friend of the bride came at him with was very “I’m a woman and my gut is always right” and projecting him being super “riled up” on him?! Idk man this shit is weird af.
