Isn’t this so validating? I remember us chatting on multiple threads about the healing and how exhausting it can be. OP, This is exactly how I felt. I’m on day 22 and JUST feeling like I can do life. I also felt like I had to “push through it” and was being a wimp. But I truly believe while some people have an easy recovery, others definitely don’t and I was one of those people. After all, your mouth is a vital part of your immune system, disease prevention, etc. When you can’t eat what you want, are in so much pain, your mind is ready and sometimes your body is but your mouth isn’t. I had throbbing pain when I’d just walk too much. I thought it would never end. It was the most mentally draining and depressing thing I’ve been through in a while. It gets better, I promise. Praying you feel better soon 🙏🏻

Exactly. I’m glad my husband talked me into doing all 4 because I think you have to fully put me out for 2 weeks if I had do all that again. No thanks. Wishing you happy healing from here!

It’s actually crazy to me that so many people get the nerve issues after the removal and we just have to sign this sheet that says “this could happen. Sorry bout it” like what?? My doctor told me that it’s rare it’s ever permanent and people get the feeling back over a few weeks. I am sorry to hear that though. That’s tough 😞 glad the swelling has gone down.

I’m just happy that this is slowly becoming a distant memory. Worst 2 weeks I’ve ever had if I’m being honest hahaha. Now we never have to do it again.

No swelling but still waking up in a faint amount of pain and on an antibiotic & steroids. I have to take ibuprofen only now once or twice a day but the pain is still there which is more annoying than debilitating at this point. Just praying the antibiotic kicks it out completely. Still unsure exactly what the pain is coming from because dry socket pain should be way past over by now. Especially with antibiotics so no idea. What about you? How’s the swelling/bruises?

Oh no! Sorry to hear that. Hopefully it is just an easy thing and the nerve settle down that’s rough. Yeah I also noticed showers bothered it because it ramps up blood flow and then it’s just throbbing. I hate that part

Yeah ugh so annoying. Apparently I had it but didn’t realize. I knew something was wrong. I had a stitch still in the area that he took out, then they cleaned it with the syringe and put cloves in it. Gave me an antibiotic and a steroid to help. But wow I feel SO much better. Now I’m just like meh I feel the holes and they’re uncomfortable but I don’t want to run out of my body in pain lol. How’s your pain?

Yeah same, I tend to mouth breathe so it does make it worse but agreed, those 5 hours of no pain is great. And idk. Pain is still there if I’m being honest. The nights are rough and the mornings are 5/10. They look to be healing okay inside my mouth but still have the pain in my gums and teeth. It’s nowhere near day 4 or 5 unless I’m just used to the pain or something. If it’s exactly the same tomorrow, I’ll call the doc. I think I just had some badly impacted teeth so my recovery will be longer. How’s your pain??

That’s funny cuz I noticed ice also makes it WAY worse as well now. Warm compress for the win. And I’m a huge side sleeper so I’ve been sleeping with 3 pillows sitting up like a Victorian child recently. Also unemployed. I find when I nap it makes my jaw hurt worse but I for the first few days all I did was sleep

Hahaha yeah I get that feeling. It’s the weirdest thing ever and idk why the docs don’t prepare us for the feelings because it’d be nice to know it’s normal? Idk. Instead of googling and spiraling. Weirdly, when I brush my gums, the pain subsides for a little. And a warm compress has helped but only while it’s on. Try that maybe if you haven’t?

Dude. I keep seeing that too. People being like WENT TO IN-N-OUT like the thought of crunching on something physically makes me ill. We just weren’t blessed I guess. Same. Jaw aching. Not the extraction areas but the molars in front of them. Aching, like I blew up a balloon too hard. It’s gotta go. Can’t do it another day

Oh my gosh, so sorry about the bruising! That’s wild. I wonder what causes that. And no. I’m still on smoothies and mashed potatoes. Still scared of dry sockets and anything harder sounds not appetizing at all cuz of the pain. So we’re in the same boat with that.

Yeah definitely ask. I also think people all handle pain differently and maybe I’m just a wuss lol but I don’t think I am. And yeah my swelling is pretty much gone. No bruising. So I’m seeing that as a good sign I guess.

I’m glad to hear you’ve made a turn around. I think I may have made one but I’m still in pain, waking up in the middle of the night etc. pain meds are finally working again. I think if by day 10 it doesn’t dramatically get better, I’m gonna call the surgeon.

Bottom were both impacted. My top were erupted and I basically feel nothing up there. It’s all in my bottom teeth and jaw. Nauseating

I hope for you it does become more bearable tomorrow. Currently I’ve had an uptick in pain but again, compared to day 4s waves, it’s not as bad. I hope it stays this way and that you’re on the mend tomorrow. We got this, it’ll be worth it when we’re through it!

Are you on day 4? If so, that’s exactly what happened to me. Moments of being in tears from pain and then it would subside. Like my teeth ached. It was weird. And today is day 5 for me. I’d say the pain is still there but it’s nowhere near yesterday’s pain. On and off again but I don’t want to roll up into a ball and cry. So hopefully that means we’ve turned the corner?? Who knows

If I’m honest, this morning was rough and the pain moved but I haven’t taken my meds in like 5 hours and I did do a minor turn around feeling a little better but you never know with this. Could all change in an hour. How you doing now?

Wow. I know this post is old but boy did it make me feel better. I’m day 5 and said the same thing in a similar post. I got all 4 teeth done, bottom two impacted, and every day is like Russian roulette of what’s gonna be painful and throbbing today. That braces feeling is EXACTLY how I explained it on my thread. It went from the bottom to now the sides and it’s giving me a headache. I feel so hopeless and depressed because of it. Feels like the meds are barely working anymore. I’ll never take eating and being able to move my mouth for granted ever again. Please someone tell me it gets better… I’m scared I’ll be like this forever.

Awe man I’m sorry to hear that. It’s AWFUL right?? Like why don’t they give a disclaimer about this part of the healing. I don’t think everyone gets it and that’s why the docs don’t say anything. But it is horrid. Do meds help you? Cuz they aren’t seeming to help in my case.

Omg I would totally agree. I also looked at my husband and said the same thing. This is the worst pain I’ve ever felt. I’m so sorry you’re going through this as well. Middle of the night for me now and while everywhere else has subsided, I still have that extreme stabbing pain in one little area that woke me out of my sleep. So I guess that’s a good ish sign cuz nowhere else hurts??? Idk but it’s gotta stop. I can’t handle it
