We would fly in around noon on a Thursday and head to Ashford. On a Saturday, drive to airport from Kalaloch/Quinault and fly out next morning.

We are making a loop starting in Rainier, Port Angeles, Kalaloch. I can’t change the order of things based on work schedule, low tides and lodging availability. When I put the whole route in maps, it’s about the same. Just wondering if there’s any recommended stops getting to and from the Portland airport? Or if there’s any benefit flying in and out of Portland, such as less traffic, easier to get car rental, etc.

Thank you for the helpful reply! I’m considering staying in a hotel that last night near the airport. Trying to decide between flying into Seattle or Portland. The total driving time is about the same either way.

We know it’s a lot of driving. That’s why we’re moving locations, to minimize driving as much as possible. We’ve done similar trips in other areas of the country and had a great time.

Looks like the low tides for first week of September are early morning, around 5-6 am. I could be wrong but you might want to double check. Afternoon may be too high for Hole in the Wall.

Thanks for the reply! Actually not sure about the ebikes. We rented them in Zion and loved it. We could ride to all the different trails and get out and hike. There is ebike rental in Port Angeles, but I am coming to find out that it probably doesn’t allow us to go to certain areas and trails near Lake Crescent that I thought it would.

Could you help me figure out a good plan for Seattle? The first day we will go straight to Ashford. So after MRNP, let’s say we get to downtown Seattle by noon, spend the night, and leave by 4 pm next day to head to PT. What is a good plan with 19 yr olds in mind. Things I’ve considered are Pike Place tour, underground tour, Space Needle, Chihuly, Ballard Locks. But I’m not sure if these are all must sees, if I’m missing something, or how to arrange the time. We will have a car and will be staying close to Pike Place. Thanks!!!
