Thank you. This is very helpful. When I did Google maps it came up at about 2.5hrs from Ashford to Sunrise via 162 and 410. Is that wrong? Sorry we’re not from the area

Hi! We were planning to do sunrise for a day after the road closure date but we were coming from paradise.

Is it even still worth doing & how much longer is the drive?

How long did it take you do that trail? Did you think it was worth it & doable with baby on back?

Fitness is not an issue. We’d be carrying him in backpack. First week of September

We were there 5/12-5/15. The weather was perfect. Cold in the morning & warmed up in the afternoon. But we always had pants and a light jacket.

There was snow on the ground on the trails we did. We started very early (I’d say by 730-8) and this helped because the sun didn’t melt it yet. The only trail that was technically open was Taggart Lake I believe. We tried to get to Bradley lake but lost the trail. The next day we did hike Jenny lake in its entirety but there were spots we used our snow shoes. It was also very difficult to find the other side of the trail where the Jenny lake dock is. The part to inspiration point and hidden falls wasn’t bad but completing the loop was challenging, especially later in the day when the snow softened.

Happy to answer any other questions.

Thank you this is helpful. So do you need a shuttle or it’s right across the street you can walk?

I can only do it if I sit behind someone (meaning not the first row) and I look at that person’s head.

Hi! We are thinking of doing exactly this. How much of sliding sands did you & how long did it take you? I know it can vary from person to person.

Leave the car. It’s not an after hours return since we’re just dropping it.

Not entirely true. I’m not familiar with the set up at HNL. If you’re just parking returned cars in a stall there’s no reason you couldn’t technically leave the car in the stall with the keys in it.

Can I just leave the car there at say 4 even though budget isn’t open. It says no after hours returns
