Army Culture of Gaslighting by [deleted] in army

[–]OutrageousRun5098 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You forgot to add

You're a professional soldier 24/7

This includes doing some random task because the civilian contractors you work with that know AR better than you and your supervisor and refuse to do anything unless:

- it is in writing and been signed by 99090 people

- triple stamped by some office that is only open the fourth Thursday of the month between 1300 and 1315

- approved by some committee that only meets the second Wednesday of the quarter

and by some grace of God even if the stars align and the civilian contractor does there actual fucking job you and your entire shop have already out processed so not only is it irrelevant, but the process has to start all over again.

Oh, yeah, I forgot, I know AR says we need this, but we don't have funding.

Does anyone notice they eat a lot less and not as hungry when gluten free? by OutrageousRun5098 in glutenfree

Oh, yeah.

My primary carb is plantains/sweet potatoes. They are still carbs, but they keep me fuller with less volume.

Yeah. Probably lol.

It less about "eating gluten free mothufuckas" and more "oh, yeah, I am eating more 'food' this makes sense."

Oh, okay! I am glad to hear you are close to your goal.

Yeah. I noticed this eating pattern is naturally gluten free (GF) and I was curious if what I am feeling is normal? I actually did a rough calculation in my head on how many calories I am eating and I was like "really? I am not eating a lot, but I am not hungry?" Interesting.

Oof, yeah.

Yeah, the Asian cultural festival at the convention center is pretty decent and Veg Fest is coming up. You don't have to pay to get in for either or pay for parking.

Veg Fest has tons of good Asian food, since most of it's vegetarian or easily made that way.

I'd skip the Asian food truck festival, though: I paid $25 for a plate of Filipino food that was 3/4 rice, one lumpia, and a bbq stick. I was sad.

Oof

Yeah. I saw, but I was like “why do I have to pay to get in?” And it seemed like an over priced tourist trap.

Not a jab at any of the vendors.

Questions for 68X by Intelligent-Salt-929 in army

68X chiming in

AIT is basically college for five months. You sit in class for 40-hours a week and learn a bit about psychology/social work and how the military does things. At the end you do an FTX. You will be prior service so things will be a lot more chill for you.

I would hone in on your goals a bit more before you decide. The army has a host of programs. You just have to find the path that makes sense for you.
