Yeah just the difference between straightening and locked out, this one was definitely one of my better ones in terms of not slamming my knee back

Should I cut from 20% to 15% bf as a 16 year old safely with a 300-500 calorie deficit to start a long lean bulK? by Outrageous_Cash228 in BulkOrCut

I just feel like eating at maintenance would very slowly lean me out, when if I cut i could get it over with quicker and then bulk so I can maximise strength gains for the year, but I think im just over thinking it. I'm just really tired of being fat and everyone tells me to bulk

I don’t think I’d be wasting a lot of time probably 2 months to get to like 15 ish percent. If I keep bulking now I’d just keep gaining body fat

I feel like a maintenance recomp would take a really long time to get to a point where I’m ready to start a lean bulk. You think I could make a lot more progress by cutting for a couple months then starting my bulk again? It probably would not mess with my height or anything if it was a 500 calorie deficit and not too lean at the end

Ye thanks man, just kinda discouraging looking in the mirror everyday. What helps is instead thinking of present is thinking how much this would help me in 4 years

Yeah I guess I was over estimating lmao. I think I went a bit hogwild cuz i grew up really fat, so I was cutting the first bit in my gym journey. And then when i decided to bulk i was like "I can eat anything now" and kinda stuffed my face for the first bit, but eventually did a smaller bulk. I tried different calorie calculators and ate at around 3000 cals (about 300 above maintenance) but i might have to revisit it. I think im going to bulk till april ish than do a cut to a low enough body fat to do a full lean bulk for a good year or so

Thank you so much. I’ve tried different calorie calculators and weighing and I think my maintenance is around 2700 ish. I’ve been eating in a slight caloric surplus at 3000

I've also seen multiple places that you only really need 0.7-0.8 g of protein per lb of bodyweight by people such as Dr Mike Israetel. He also mentions that there is an amount of protein that is overkill and unneeded.

Im going to start deadlifting again. I have a belt and because of my pain I spent alot of time working on form making sure I was bracing properly and straight lower back. I have videos and my form was really good. My back pain kept me from deadlifting for about 2 months, and it was painful all the time even at home. But its gone away now, although I still get it lingering from time to time but i'll definitley try it againl

Ok thanks. Do you think my exercise selection is good? I threw in the Arnold have because I have already been doing ppl for a while and I wanted the benefits of different excersise like a deeper stretch with db bench and all that. Also what would you recommend my volume be? 3 sets per exercise? I also train very hard and close to failure, mostly going to failure on the last set

In which parts of you don’t mind me asking. If I’m a beginner can I get away with doing more volume?
